When York saw Beasley, he was sitting at the head table chatting with the director and writers.
York instinctively looked for Rosamund, only to realize she had spotted Beasley before he did and was already walking toward him.
Before York could even process his mixed feelings, he saw several reporters lugging their heavy cameras over to swarm the pair.
"Mr. Windsor is here?" Director Harrison followed York's gaze and saw Beasley, along with Rosamund, who had just reached his side.
Rosamund wore a radiant smile, making it look like she and Beasley were incredibly close.
A knowing smile appeared on the director's face. "Maybe we should give Mr. Windsor a minute before heading over to say hello."
The people at the head table nodded in agreement, and someone even joked, "Looks like there might be some good news announced tonight."
Beasley had invested a massive one billion dollars into this movie. It wasn't just fueling heated debates and wild speculation online; even industry insiders like them gossiped about it privately.
The most popular rumor was the one that leaked right before the movie's launch ceremony—that the CEO of Windsor Corporation dropped a billion dollars on a sci-fi blockbuster simply to win a smile from a beautiful woman.
And that beautiful woman was naturally assumed to be his childhood friend, Rosamund.
Even though a video later surfaced online of Beasley hugging a mysterious woman in a hospital hallway, it didn't stop people from drawing their own conclusions.
Besides, the video of Beasley and that mystery woman quickly vanished from the internet, and everyone assumed Beasley was the one who had it scrubbed.
As for whether he did it to protect the mystery woman or to protect Rosamund, who knew?
But now, seeing Rosamund and Beasley standing together looking like a perfect match, the answer seemed obvious.
York just offered a tight smile, keeping quiet.
Over by Beasley, the reporters had already completely surrounded him and Rosamund.
Beasley had walked into the venue without an assistant or anyone else by his side, but now, he had Rosamund next to him.
"Mr. Windsor, could I get a photo of you and Ms. Worthington?"
Her goal had always been crystal clear.
Beasley shifted his gaze, meeting Rosamund's faintly expectant eyes.
Even though he had known Rosamund for over a decade, they were hardly close. Throughout their entire time in school, Rosamund had never shown any admiration for him.
Unlike Willow. The first time she saw him, her clear eyes sparkled, unable to hide the surprise, shyness, and subtle joy in them.
It wasn't until the drugging incident, combined with what he heard her say when someone confessed to her on the Kingston University campus, that he reclassified all the looks Willow gave him. He decided they were just looks of desperate greed for the title of Mrs. Windsor, completely unrelated to him as a person.
Seeing Beasley take so long to respond, the reporters held their breath, unsure if they should back off.
Regardless, they had already snapped plenty of candid shots of the two of them together, and they had video, too.
That was more than enough material to give their editors.
