Bound To The Broken Alpha (Amy and Daniel) novel Chapter 559

DANIEL

Amy went into labor just before dawn.

There was no warning beyond the shift in her breathing. I woke when she reached for my arm, her fingers firm despite the tension running through her body.

Her face was calm, but her eyes were focused in a way I had learned to recognize over the past months.

“It’s time,” she said.

I was already moving.

The house had been prepared for this moment for weeks. The healer arrived within minutes. The medical team followed close behind. Security sealed the perimeter without being told.

Everything happened in order, not because it was rehearsed, but because everyone understood what mattered.

Amy walked as far as she could before the pain demanded her full attention. When contractions tightened, she stopped and leaned against me.

I held her steady. She did not cry out. She breathed through it, slow and controlled, just as she had been taught.

“You’re doing well,” I told her.

“I know,” she said, without hesitation.

The labor room was quiet. Clean. Warm. No chaos. No raised voices. The healer gave instructions in a measured tone. Amy listened.

She followed every step, every direction, even when her grip on my hand tightened enough to remind me how strong she really was.

Hours passed.

I did not leave her side.

When the pain intensified, she did not pull away. She anchored herself to the present, to me, to the knowledge that this was not something happening to her, but something she was doing.

The first child arrived just after mid-morning.

A strong cry filled the room.

The healer announced the heartbeat before I even realized I was holding my breath. The child was healthy. Strong lungs. Responsive.

Amy let out a breath that sounded like relief and disbelief combined.

Before she could rest, the second contraction wave came.

I stayed where I was, my forehead against hers, my voice steady. She responded to it. She adjusted. She endured.

The second child arrived without delay.

Another cry. Another steady heartbeat.

Amy’s hands shook then, not from pain, but from effort. I wiped her face with a cloth, careful, gentle.

“You’re almost there,” I said.

She nodded. Her jaw set.

The third labor was the hardest.

Her breathing changed. The healer’s instructions became more precise. Amy listened even as exhaustion pressed down on her. She did not panic. She did not break.

When the final child was born, the room filled with sound.

Three cries. Three steady heartbeats.

The healer confirmed what I already felt in my chest.

“They’re all healthy,” she said. “All three.”

I laughed before I realized I was doing it.

Not loud. Not uncontrolled.

Just relief, sharp and overwhelming.

Amy closed her eyes for a moment. When she opened them again, there were tears there, but her expression was steady.

“They’re okay?” she asked.

“They’re perfect,” I said.

She smiled then. Not wide. Not dramatic. Just real.

The children were placed with her one by one. She touched each of them with care, her fingers gentle, her movements precise.

She memorized their faces as if she had all the time in the world and none at all.
