Breaking Point of Divorce (Hugh and Bethan) novel Chapter 454

Chapter 454 New Identity

Fuming mad, Alina suddenly blurted out, "This has nothing to do with Mr. Cavill.

"That woman must've caught wind that I'm supposed to be Mr. Cavill's fiancée. She was just trying to get under my skin and cause trouble between us."

Ivory quickly chimed in, "Even if our families can't form a marriage alliance, we can't afford to cross the Cavill family. Who the hell is that bitch? How dare she slap you in public and use you like that?"

Alina rummaged through her bag, fished out Megan's profile, and handed it over. "Mom, I don't have time for this crap. You handle her. No holding back."

Taking a quick glance at the profile, Ivory remarked, "Something's fishy. I've never seen such a 'clean-as-a-whistle' resume. Her identity must've been whitewashed."

Alina snatched it back, skimmed through it, and felt the same way.

"Mom, Megan is not a simple woman. You deal with her."

Ivory then told the driver to hit the road.

Whoever that bitch was, she'd make sure Megan paid for laying a hand on her daughter.

Meanwhile, at the Field Manor, Bradley was pestering Jessica to hand over Megan's phone.

Jessica flat-out refused.

An all-out argument ensued.

Fuming, Bradley pointed at Jessica and roared, "You're just as unreasonable as your mother!"

Jessica shot back, jabbing her finger at him, "You're a scumbag. You don't even deserve to mention my mom!"

"Are you gonna give me that phone or what?" Bradley demanded.

Jessica stared defiantly into her father's angry eyes. "I've already got all the dirt from that bitch's phone. I know where you stashed that mistress overseas. Even if I give you the phone, you can't save that slut and the illegitimate kid in her belly."

In a fit of rage, Bradley slapped Jessica across the face.

In response, Jessica took out the phone and smashed it into smithereens right away.

Just then, Sarah showed up with her two brothers from her maiden family.

Jessica's uncles rushed forward, kicked Bradley down, and hauled him over to Sarah, one on each side.

At the sight of her daughter's beaten face, Sarah's heart ached.

Looking down at Bradley, she said, "My daughter might not lay a finger on you, but I will!"

She grabbed a feather duster and started whaling on Bradley with all her might. Bradley cursed and called for the guards, but none of them dared to step in and stop Sarah.

The commotion quickly caught the attention of Ophelia Field, Bradley's mother, who rushed in from an adjacent room.

Ophelia nodded, a determined look on her face. "And we need to keep Maria and the baby safe. That's our real heir to the Field family fortune."

Bradley helped his mother into a chair.

"Mom, you rest. Sarah knows where Maria is overseas. I'm sending Megan to take care of her and the baby. She'll be there to make sure everything goes smoothly."

That night, at the airport, Bradley handed Megan a brand-new phone.

"Here, this has Maria's contact details and address. I've had your past records wiped clean.

"From now on, you're an unmarried, childless woman who graduated from the Juilliard School's dance department and has been furthering your studies at Ryerson University. Your new diploma will arrive next week.

"As long as you keep your mouth shut about your past, no one'll know what you've been through."

Megan's eyes welled up with tears of gratitude.

Armed with this brand-new identity, Megan could bid farewell to the fear of people finding out about her previous marriage and the anxiety that the child might hold her back.

She now presented herself as a college student hailing from a humble background, with a spotless record.

A bright young thing who'd pulled herself up by her bootstraps to complete advanced courses abroad.

This shiny new persona? It was her golden ticket into the upper-crust society.
