Bride behind the mask novel (Marguerite) novel Chapter 752

As the seconds ticked away, the evening sky darkened and the streetlamps began to glow, casting soft lights over the neighborhood.

Frederick pulled up at the gates of Evergreen Enclave Manor, a place known for its strict security. Even from a distance, he could see a fleet of bodyguards patrolling outside a particular mansion.

Instead of heading straight in, he drove a block in the opposite direction and pulled up next to a sleek black SUV.

He rapped his knuckles on the driver’s window, which slowly rolled down to reveal a man with striking blond hair and blue eyes, who gave Frederick a sheepish grin.

“Lord Frederick,” the man, clad in a bulletproof vest, greeted him in English with a touch of respect.

Frederick responded in kind, though his tone carried a commanding presence that seemed to demand attention.

“Hard to keep up, isn’t it? Head back.”

The bodyguard's face turned serious. “Lord Frederick, the Chief has orders. If you insist on this path, he might have to involve the King to persuade you.”

Frederick remained stoic, unfazed by any threat.

“I won’t be told twice.”

“Lord Frederick, the Chief is just worried about you! Don’t make this harder for us.”

“What do I have to worry about? It’s my daughter who should be worried!”

Frederick lifted Teresa into his arms, locking eyes with his little angel.

“Daddy?”

Teresa wrapped her arms around Frederick’s neck, scanned the room, then whispered in his ear, “Daddy, I actually knew you were my daddy all along, but I never got the chance to tell you.”

Frederick felt his heart melt at her words, but his happiness was tinged with sadness, knowing the uncertainty of his fate within Maurice’s walls.

Trying to mask the sorrow in his eyes, he gently asked, “When did you find out?”

Teresa looked up with her innocent eyes, thinking hard, “A long, long time ago! Remember the first time I went to the estate with Hayes? I started suspecting then! So, I made Hayes pluck a few of your hairs and we did a DNA test in secret! And guess what, you really are my daddy!”
