Bride To Be Not Me (Janice and Simon) novel Chapter 114

That enthusiasm was enough to make Heidi fume inside. Myra had never been this warm toward her.

Seeing this, Emma also put on a show of concern, throwing around some pleasantries.

Once everyone arrived, dinner began, and the guests took their seats.

Terry sat across from Gregory while Emma sat facing Barbara. Meanwhile, Myra and Edward flanked Janice, leaving Heidi sitting alone at the side.

"Janice, Edward, did you know?" Myra initiated the conversation. "Ms. Ryan here is actually Shirley Olson."

Janice raised an eyebrow slightly. Did Heidi really lie about her identity in front of Edward's elders? She certainly had some nerve.

Upon hearing this, Heidi set down her cutlery and looked at Edward.

"Edward, I didn't mean to hide it from you. I mentioned it to you that day, but I guess you didn't believe me. That's why I want to join your company; I just want to help support you a little. After all, for our national crochet craft to go global, it has to be top-tier.

"What do you think, Ms. Smith?"

Janice smiled. "Of course. But I must say, it's quite surprising to hear you're Shirley Olson. I always thought Shirley was a foreigner."

Edward shot Janice a glance but said nothing.

Heidi took a sip of water. "Well, you wouldn't have known. It's not surprising that you didn't believe me before."

At this moment, Edward finally spoke up. "So, you're Shirley?"

"That's right, Edward." Emma quickly added, "Smithy has always kept a low profile. You two grew up together. If you don't believe her, who else would? She just wants to help you. She never expected all those misunderstandings before. But now that everything is cleared up, Didi still hopes to help you out.

"Building a business alone is tough, after all. As a family friend, I wouldn't want you to be cheated by anyone."

That last sentence was clearly aimed at Janice.

"I see."

Heidi pursed her lips and smiled. "So, does that mean you're letting me join your company, Edward?"

"About what Edward mentioned earlier, it was probably my assistant who had replied to Prosper Stitch Group. My ex-assistant was a foreigner, so she might not have recognized Prosper Stitch Group.

"In this case, Mrs. Gallagher, you may follow my official account on Instagram, and I'll have my assistant approve your request later."

Janice suddenly asked with a smile, "It's the account with a crochet needle as the profile picture, right?"

Heidi, now flustered, nodded instinctively. "Yes, that's the one."

She just wanted to move on from this topic as quickly as possible. However, as soon as she spoke, the room fell into an eerie silence.

Terry, in particular, turned to look at Heidi immediately. His gaze, though not angry, carried a commanding intensity.

Janice slowly picked up her phone and tapped on the profile picture of Shirley Olson's official Instagram on her main personal account.

Controlled and composed, she asked, "That's strange, because on my end, Shirley has set a photo of a double-sided crochet piece as her official Instagram profile picture."

Heidi's face turned pale in an instant.
