But it was too late.
Janice was the true mastermind all along. If not for her, would Heidi have ended up in such a miserable state? Heidi dug her nails into the floor, seething with hatred.
Louis noticed her subtle gestures but dismissed them without a second thought. This foolish woman was likely useless. Then again, perhaps her stupidity could serve a purpose.
As he passed by the kitchen, he casually tossed the shabby piece Heidi had crocheted to a maid.
"Use it as a rag."
A rag?
The maid caught the fabric, turning it over in her hands.
Clearly, Louis had never done a day of housework in his life. The material didn't absorb water, nor did it have any grip. It was far too smooth to be useful as a rag. After a moment of consideration, the housekeeper simply tossed it into the trash.
Downstairs, Louis cast a glance at Simon. He stood motionless in the living room, looking utterly dazed.
Shattered fragments littered the floor—pieces worth a fortune. Considering how Zedrick treated his belongings like priceless treasures, there was no way he'd let Simon off the hook.
Paying no mind to the wreckage, Louis strode straight to the study. Santiago followed closely behind, ready to report on Greenfield City's crochet market.
As he listened, Louis' frown deepened. "I expected Prosper Stitch Group to have influence in Greenfield City… but I didn't think it would be this overwhelming."
Abroad, Onley Group ruled the industry with an iron grip, and there was no real competition. Whenever they opened job applications, thousands would flood in within a single day.
His curiosity flared. "I thought this was just another case of a cheating scumbag, but I didn't expect—"
He suddenly paused, his expression shifting. "Wait a minute. Did you just say my brother's ex? Are you talking about Amelia Burnett?"
Santiago nodded. "That's right. She's the reason Mr. Zedrick is going after Simon so ruthlessly. Simon used her, betrayed her, and discarded her like trash. Now, Mr. Zedrick is making sure he pays the price."
Without hesitation, Louis strode downstairs.
In the living room, Simon was caught in a heated argument with Zedrick.
Out of nowhere, a phone came hurtling through the air, smashing into his head and leaving him stunned.
