Bride To Be Not Me (Janice and Simon) novel Chapter 244

"Looks like you really don't remember a thing."

Simon froze, panic flashing in his eyes. He grabbed Amelia's shoulders, his voice trembling. "When? How? Why don't I remember? You're just trying to mess with me, aren't you?"

Amelia shoved him away with a look of disgust. "Why don't you head to the CDC and check for yourself? Simon, people like you don't deserve a happy ending."

She let out a quiet, mocking laugh. "At first, I wasn't even planning to do anything to you. But you turned your back on me. Without a second thought, you left me to die. So now, this is your fate. Karma's just balancing the scales."

Simon's face twisted with rage. "I'll fucking kill you!"

But before he could make a move, Adam was already one step ahead. He sprang out of the car and landed a fierce kick to Simon's chest, knocking him backward onto the pavement.

In the past, Adam wouldn't have stood a chance against Simon. But recently, Simon had been injured, and with his condition rendering him infertile, sleep had eluded him. His mind felt foggy, and his focus was increasingly scattered.

Simon lay on the ground, gasping for air as his eyes burned with rage. He glared at Amelia and Adam.

"No matter what, I've done you both a favor!" he snapped. "If you hadn't lied about your condition, do you really think I'd be this furious?"

"Yes, I deceived you. You could've hit me, yelled at me, or kicked me out—that would've been punishment enough. But why the hell did you cut off my medication? You knew I'd die without it!"

Amelia loomed over him, her gaze cold and unwavering. "Sure, I scammed you out of some money, but you wanted my life in return. When you really think about it, I got the worst deal. So, of course, I have to get my revenge. Even if I die, I'll make sure you go down with me."

"Amelia Burnett!" Simon's scream tore through the night, his soul shattering at that moment.

Amelia didn't spare him a glance. She turned and climbed into the car with Adam. As they drove off, another car passed. It was Louis'.

The tires splashed mud onto Simon, drenching him in grime.

For a long moment, he lay there, defeated and humiliated.

Gritting his teeth, he struggled to his feet and staggered toward the CDC.

In addition, custom orders for One in a Million Collective were flooding in, and The Woven Dreams Institute was launching the next day. Each week, a different seamstress would be sent to teach.

Everything was moving along smoothly and according to plan.

Soon, Janice would begin working on the million-dollar bridal gown commission.

"If Celine is coming, there's probably going to be a dinner party," Janice mused. "Onley Group will likely be there too."

Flipping through his documents, Edward replied, "It's only a matter of time before we face them."

Janice's expression turned serious. "But what if Onley Group continues using aggressive tactics? Have you thought about how to handle them?"

If Onley Group was serious about dominating the domestic market, Edward would be their primary target.

At that, Edward set his pen down. "You should be more concerned about yourself. They have no reason to target me. But you? You're of great value to them."
