Chapter 19 Level 3 Shelter

Chapter 19 Level 3 Shelter

About ten seconds later, the shaking stopped, and the light slowly faded.

Riley blinked a few times, letting her eyes adjust.

Okaythis is seriously huge now, right?

The cramped little camp she’d been squeezed into was suddenly wide open.

Centered around the fire pit, the area that used to be snowfree for about fifteen feet in every direction had straightup doubled. Twenty feet, easy.

And that wasn’t just some number on a screenthe visual difference was massive.

Over three thousand square feet of flat, solid ground. Out here on the snowfield where every step meant sinking into powder, this felt like having your own private courtyard.

The fire pit itself had gotten the biggest glowup.

Gone was the makeshift ring of rocks she’d thrown together. In its place stood a solid slab of bluishgray stone, carved into what looked like some kind of altar setup, about kneehigh. It was square, with old- school flame patterns etched into the sides. Looked way better, sure, but more importantly? That thing was practically windproof now.

The burn chamber underneath was bigger too, flames rolling hot and steady inside, pumping out heat in

waves.

Above it, four steel grills were mounted on swing armscould cook a bunch of stuff at once, or just use them as rails to warm your hands on.

But then she looked around at the warm, springlike bubble she was standing in. Yeah. Worth every stick.

She turned to check out the rest of the setup.

The Main Shelterand Outhousethat used to feel crammed together? They’d automatically shifted outward with the expanded foundation, now sitting pretty at the new boundary lines.

And they’d leveled up too.

The Main Shelter wasn’t just stacked logs anymore. It had a proper stone foundation running around the base now, and the walls were this mixed woodandstone deallooked solid, wind couldn’t touch it. There was even a tiny porch out front.

The outhouse hadn’t changed much visually, but that draft she used to feel through the cracks? Gone. Sealing was way tighter now.

But the real win was the Tool Shed.

Before, that thing was so big half of it sat out in the snow. Every time she needed something from it, she’d

Finally. No more sidestepping like I’m in a cramped hallway.

Riley did a lap around her camp, feeling like some landowner inspecting the property.

That row of wooden fencing that used to press right up against the shed? It’d autoextended to the new boundary. Still just a line of kinda flimsylooking stakes, but with three thousand square feet enclosed, it actually felt like staking a claim now.

Only small bummer was the table by the fire pit and the drying rack with some frozen meat on it. They hadn’t changed at all.

Just sitting there in all that open space, looking kinda sad and small.

Guess furniture doesn’t autoupgrade with the camp.

Riley tapped her chin.

Whatever. Space to work with now. Can add stuff later.

She was already mentally mapping it outthis section for growing things, that section for supply crates, over theremaybe build some kind of dog house?
