Chapter 201 The Natural Architect

Chapter 201 The Natural Architect

The little treant stood before the wooden shed.

It tilted its head back, giving the soon-to-collapse building a thorough once-over-from roof to foundation.

It turned its head to look at Neeko, who had followed it out.

Then, the treant looked away, the leaves atop its head trembling slightly.

It pulled that Tape Measure out of its overalls.

Zip-

The tape measure extended as it began measuring the tilt angle of the support pillars.

Next, it produced a red twig-pen and marked lines on several pieces of wood.

Tap! Tap! Tap!

It walked to a warped crossbeam, raised its miniature Carpentry Hammer, and tapped the key stress points a few times.

A magical scene unfolded.

That tiny hammer released ripples of what felt like magical energy with every strike; the logs of varying lengths and wide gaps seemed to come alive, automatically growing and fusing together.

Excess wood fell away while missing sections filled themselves in./

In just a few minutes, the rickety shack, which had looked ready to collapse, transformed into a structurally sound storage shed with perfectly aligned joints and a certain tenon-and-mortise aesthetic, all under the stunned gazes of Riley and Neeko.

But it wasn’t finished yet.

The treant appeared to be a total perfectionist.

After fixing the structure, it circled the shed once more and decided the roof’s show protection was inadequate,

It pressed a wooden palm against the planks, and a green light flared from its body.

The dry wood suddenly sprouted a thick, dense layer of moss and broad leaves, acting like natural waterproof tiles that covered the roof without a single gap.

With the job done, the treant tucked its tools away, clapped its hands, and stepped back two paces to review its work.

This time, it gave a firm nod.

It seemed satisfied-barely.

“Woah-!!!”

Neeko poked her head out from behind Riley, her eyes shining like stars. “That’s incredible! It’s all straight now! And it looks so pretty!”

The vegetable patch Riley had haphazardly planted was quickly organized into neat, professional rows.

Sensing Riley’s intense gaze.

The treant turned around, returning to its usual expressionless face.

It pointed at the fixed shed and then the farmland, as if asking,

Any other chores? Assign them all now; I’m on a schedule.

“It’s too late today, and the storm is picking up out there.”

Riley knelt down and pointed toward the glowing windows of the shelter. “I know you’re a workaholic, but since you’re here, you’re part of the family, not a machine.”

The treant tilted its head as if processing the concept.

“Let me give you a few rules first.

“One: do not leave the camp boundaries-that means staying inside the stone walls.

“Two: if you’re cold or tired, you must come inside to rest.

“Three…” Riley pointed to the lumber pile. “Starting tomorrow, the planning and construction of this entire yard, along with the planters over there, are your responsibility; you can design it however you want, and I’ll put all the seeds and plants you can use in the indoor storage crates. You can grab any tools you need from the workshop. But for tonight, you’re resting.”

The treant stood in silence for several seconds after hearing this.

It looked at Riley, then at Neeko.

Finally, it gave a slow nod.
