With her gear upgraded, Riley didn’t slow down.
If WarWolf was across the canyon, their main force was definitely within striking distance.
The chasm was a good defense, but she wasn’t taking any chances.
She crafted a Large Storage Crate on the fly.
She filled it with refined iron bows, spears, and several bundles of quality arrows she had salvaged.
Riley hauled the weapons crate to the mine, bringing the treant along with her.
“My lady! What brings you back?”
Riley pulled the crate out and pointed. “These are weapons. Distribute them amongst yourselves.”
Joseph looked at the sharpened steel, his expression turning grave.
Was a war finally coming?
“The world is getting dangerous,” Riley said seriously. “I don’t want strangers raiding this site. Protect yourselves.”
“Also…”
Riley pointed toward the little treant.
“I’m leaving materials here. You and the treant will reinforce the outer walls. Build traps or a watchtower.”
The treant, a man of few words but absolute action, gestured for Joseph to follow.
“Go on. If you see anyone with red armbands, don’t engage. Notify me through the cameras immediately. Stay alive.”
“Yes, my lady!”
Joseph saluted and marched off with the treant and his new arsenal.

With the perimeter defenses arranged, Riley opened the system chat.
“SpicyBurger: @PineappleBeer @TartKing, you guys around?”
“Tart King: Right here! I just pulled some fresh cookies out for Neeko!”
“PineappleBeer: Just finished a minor ruin, heading back now. What’s up? Trouble?”
Riley organized her thoughts before typing.
“SpicyBurger: I just ran into WarWolf across the canyon. They were sieging the Drifters base. I broke it up, but their main camp is likely close.”
“SpicyBurger: Don’t go on long treks for now. I might need your backup on short notice.”
“TartKing: What?! WarWolf? Those rabid dogs? No worries, Riley! I’m staying put. I’m Level 14 now and can hold my own. We crushed them once, we can do it again!”
PineappleBeer was much calmer, though a hint of excitement touched her voice.
“PineappleBeer: I’ll cut my scouting short. I’m about half a day’s walk out; heading back now.”
“SpicyBurger: Good. See you when you’re back. Stay safe.”
Riley checked the time after closing the chat. 4:30 PM.
With sunlight left, Riley decided to add some “spice” to the camp and headed to her workshop.
Fifteen minutes later, she stepped out into the snow outside the gates.
This was the primary approach to the camp.
“Constructing: Spike Barricades (Superior)”
“Cost: Wood x 20, Iron Nails x 10”
With a wave, rows of sharpened wooden barricades appeared in a staggered pattern 164 feet from the gate.
These weren’t ordinary barricades; system reinforcement made them incredibly durable and gave the spikes unique properties.

This created a perfect buffer zone. Any attacker would have to clear these while the turrets and Riley picked them off.
