Chapter 679 Countless Reflections
Riley took half a step forward.
The person standing in the center wore extremely refined gear.

Fine dark patterns lined the edges of her shoulder armor. The hem of her clock rippled like a living shadow, like endless night flowing around her. Her gloves, boots, knee guards, and the short blade at her waist all carried a heavy pressure, far stronger than any orange–tier equipment they’d seen before.
Riley lifted her gaze to the person’s face.
The next second, her fingers tightened sharply.
The grips of her Storm Splitter Dual Axes let out a faint creak.
TartKing got a clear look too, and her Frosted Judgment Greatsword nearly slipped off her shoulder.
“Pine…?”
The figure in the center had PineappleBeer’s exact face.
It wasn’t a resemblance.
It was her.
Only this version looked more mature, infinitely colder.
Her hair was slightly longer than that of the Pine they knew. There was no trace of her usual laziness or sharp tongue in her eyes- only a ruthless edge, forged from being pushed to her absolute limit.
Frozen mid–battle, she twisted sideways to dodge a spear thrust while driving her dagger straight into another survivor’s throat.
Droplets of blood splashed out from the wound, every single one suspended mid–air.
Her other hand hung loosely at her side, still clutching the crystal ornament. Thin streams of light seeped through her fingers, wrapping her whole body in a chaotic, fraying aura. It was this power that had frozen the entire brutal siege at its most chaotic
moment.
It took TartKing ages to find her voice.
“Is this… Pine from another timeline?”
Riley didn’t answer.
She glanced sideways.
PineappleBeer stood still, all the color drained from her face.
She didn’t look at TartKing or Riley.
Her eyes were fixed solely on the other version of herself in the center of the battlefield.

Her gaze was hollow, like every shred of her spirit had been pulled away.
Layer after layer of shadows peeted off her feet, sliding across the ground and surging toward the center.
It wasn’t just her feet.

The entire space around them began reflecting endress versions of PineappleBeer, like countless mirrors stretched across the void.
On the broken surface of a floating stone table to the left, a Pine in a tattered cloak stumbled forward, clutching her chest.
On a shattered shield to the right stood a Pine with eyes cold enough to kill, her dagger.dripping frozen blood.
By a distant dark rift, a younger–looking Pine limped and ran toward the battlefield center.
Even the frozen flames above their heads cast her silhouette.
So many versions of her.
All walking toward the center, from every possible direction.
TartKing’s throat went tight with dread.
“Pine!”
The shout finally made PineappleBeer’s lashes flutter.
But she didn’t turn around.
She lifted her foot and stepped forward slowly.
Her movements were heavy, like she was wading through thick water.
Riley stepped forward in an instant, holding her axes horizontally to block her path.
‘Stop.”
PineappleBeer bumped gently into the axe handle.
She stared blankly at the weapon, her eyes unfocused.
Riley reached out to grab her shoulder.
But her fingers passed straight through the edge of her cloak.
Riley’s expression darkened sharply.
PineappleBeer’s body started fading away.
The blur spread from her shoulders to her wrists, then to the broken Time–Severing Shadow Blade at her side. She looked like she was being absorbed by the starry void, her outline growing fainter and fainter as her feet lifted half an inch off the ground
TartKing’s face paled.

-pine!”
PineappleBeer’s body swayed slightl
She kept drifting forward, straight toward the center of the battlefield.
Without a second of hesitation, Riley activated her Silent Sprint and darted after her.
“PineappleBeer!”
Her voice echoed across the platform.
The sound rippled through the air, shaking tiny floating crystal shards around them.
TartKing sprinted right behind her. Her greatsword was too heavy to run with, so she quickly switched back to her staff. Her Dawn Prayer Knee Pads lit up, maxing out her movement buffs as she stretched her hand out, trying desperately to catch the fading figure
“Pine, look at me!”
PineappleBeer didn’t stop.
Her toes were fully off the ground now, an invisible force tugging her upward and forward. Her face was empty of all emotion. Her eyes were fixed on the other self in the center, yet it looked like she was seeing nothing at all.
Riley caught up to her side and reached out fast.
This time, she managed to grip half of her wrist.
It was ice cold.
