The surging shadows washed straight past Riley and TartKing, rolling forward like a dark tide. They streamed through PineappleBeer’s body and swarmed toward her frozen self in the center of the battlefield.

PineappleBeer’s form grew even/fainter.

Her hands slipped slowly out of theirs, bit by bit.

TartKing’s voice cracked with panic.

PineappleBeer!

She almost never called her by her full name.

PineappleBeer glanced at her, then at Riley.

Only their fingertips still touched, the last thread connecting them.

PineappleBeer’s lips tugged faintly, like she wanted to smile but couldn’t bring herself to.

I heard you.”

The next instant, her entire body was yanked toward the center.

Riley and TartKing dove forward at the same time.

But all they caught was a wisp of silvergray light.

PineappleBeer’s figure darted into the middle of the battlefield/merging directly into the frozen version of herselfthe one holding a dagger and clutching the crystal core.

At the exact same moment, every last shadow of PineappleBeer from all directions arrived.

Impatient shadows, weeping shadows, gentle shadows, cold and distant shadows, shadows wielding blades, shadows collapsing on the ground, shadows fleeing outward, and shadows charging inward.

Every single one crashed into the central body.

Meanwhile, the PineappleBeer in the center suddenly lifted her head.

The silvergray light in her eyes faded to pitch black, and the crystal in her hand burst out with a visible ripple of energy.

As Riley and TartKing drew closer, they slowly realized what was happeningtime was restarting.

It didn’t snap back instantly. It was more like the two of them were gradually syncing with this frozen timeline..

The frozen spears around them continued their thrusts.

Flame wings snapped fully open.

The runes on the formation plate finished lighting up with a bang.

Shattered fragments of heavy shields blasted outward.

Every survivor locked in the siege finally moved again in unison.

But before any of their attacks could land on Pineapple Beer, the chaotic light inside the crystal exploded outward.

Boom-

A silverblack shockwave spread out from the center.

Stone tables, stone benches, floating cups, chess pieces, and broken weapons were alt sent flying. The closest survivors were hit like they’d been crushed by a giant hammer. Their defensive shields shattered on the spot, and their bodies went soaring backward, slamming into the crowd behind them.

Riley reacted faster than anyone. She activated her Earthen Ward, crossing her dualaxes in front of her body to block the blast.

The moment the shockwave hit, the stone beneath her feet cracked apart, pushing her sliding backward several yards.

TartKing was blown backward by the impact. She summoned her Frosted Judgment Greatsword midair, driving the blade into the ground. It dragged a long, deep gouge across the stone before finally stopping her fall.

The second she steadied herself, she looked straight for Riley, then snapped her gaze back to the center of the battlefield.

Everyone on the platform was awake now.

Survivors from different factions scrambled back to their feet. Shouts of rage, curses, skill chants, and clanging gear erupted all at

once.

Someone yelled, Don’t let her take the artifact!

Another shouted, Kill her!

Several others spotted Riley and TartKing, who’d suddenly appeared in the middle of the fight, and immediately turned their weapons toward them.

Riley tightened her grip on her Storm Splitter Dual Axes and stared at the battlefield center.

PineappleBeer stood before the stone throne, her dagger hanging loosely at her side. The crystal artifact hovered just above her palm, its chaotic light pulsing outward in endless ripples.

She lifted her eyes.

Her gaze swept over everyone presentover the enemy survivors, and straight toward Riley and TartKing.

The next second, every survivor on the platform charged forward.

The fullscale battle erupted.

The first three people to rush Pineapple Beer were the closest to her: one man and two women.

The man wielded a black longsword lined with fine serrated edges along its spine. He’d been frozen midstrike right behind her, positioned close enough to look like they’d once fought side by side. The second time time resumed, he didn’t hesitate for a single breath. He swung his blade horizontally past broken table debris, aiming cleanly for her right wrist, perfectly avoiding the crystal
