Riley tilted her head and dodged the strike. The spark core on her Star–Breaker Gauntlets flickered brightly, steadying her axe grip She slid her left axe along the inner edge of the halberd and sliced forward sharply.
The scarred man twisted his wrist, slamming the butt of his halberd toward her ribs.
Riley didn’t flinch. Her Crimson Scale Heart–Lock Underarmor tanked the blow head–on while she swung her right axe straight for his shoulder.
Clang
A layer of black light flared across the man’s shoulder armor.
The axe blade failed to pierce his defense.
A flash of surprise crossed his eyes, but he quickly masked it.
“No wonder you’re bold enough to meddle in this.”
Riley ignored his remark and stomped down with Mountain–Shatter Step.
The shockwave threw the scarred man off balance.
TartKing sent a small firebait flying past Riley’s shoulder, slamming it right on the halberd’s handguard. The second the fireball burst, she swapped to her greatsword and swiped it hard against the man’s side knee.
The scarred man stumbled half a step back. Two dark–blue cloaked spearmen instantly moved in to cover his position.
Their coordination was flawless.
Riley and TartKing had barely pried open a gap, only to get pushed back by the two incoming spears.
TartKing gritted her teeth and stacked another barrier on herself.
“Why do they just keep coming nonstop!“.
Riley quickly scanned their surroundings.
The dark–blue faction wasn’t even trying to kill them–they only aimed to lock them down. While they were pinned, the reddish- brown heavy armor squad kept pressing toward the center, the black–cloaked assassins hunted for an opening to steal the crystal, and random players in the crowd kept sniping them from the sidelines.
PineappleBeer stood alone in the middle of it all.
Every single faction wanted a piece of her and the crystal.
Yet every side was also wary of letting anyone else strike first.
Amid the utter chaos, the tomb’s ancient traps kept running nonstop
A second memory shard drifted down from the starry rift

This time, it hovered directly above the stone table.
The scene showed a ruined central hall.

It was far more wrecked than the Floor 19 central hall. Blood and broken stones covered the ground, and several NPC stalls lay crumpled against the walls. Survivors huddled together, all viewing each other as potential enemies.
The system countdown only had a few hours left.
One player knelt at the edge of the hall, begging other teams to spare him some potions.
No one paid him any mind.
PineappleBeer sat in the corner with her three old teammates.
The black sword man split their last stamina potions into four equal parts and handed them out.
The silver–gray armored woman wiped dust off her formation plate and said coldly, “We either clear the next floor together, or w all die here.”
The teal–black robed woman broke a piece of dry rations in half and handed one half to PineappleBeer.
“You fought the hardest today. Eat more.”
PineappleBeer stared at the half piece of food in her hand, then took it after a long silence.
The black sword man smiled and patted the hilt of his blade.
“Once we reach Floor 20 and grab that relic in the tomb, we’ll dominate the whole server. Once we break through to the main domain, we can finally live in peace.”
PineappleBeer lifted her gaze. “A tomb?”
The silver–gray armored woman frowned. “We don’t have full intel on it yet.”
The black sword man lowered his voice.
“There’s a final resting ground hidden on Floor 20. It’s no ordinary dungeon drop. It’s a relic left behind by an ancient survivor. On single item inside can completely rewrite your fate.”
The teal–black robed woman’s expression turned tense.
“Where did you hear that from?”
The man avoided answering directly and looked straight at PineappleBeer.
“You’ve always wanted to save more people, right? With that relic, you might actually be able to do it.”
Seeing the flicker of hope in PineappleBeer’s eyes, he added firmly. “Trust me. We’ll definitely get our hands on it
The voices in the memory shard cut off abruptly.
Riley smashed the scared man’s halberd aside with her axe, her gaze turning cold

Chapter 692 The Hidden Truth
The black sword man had lured Pineapple Beer to Floor 20 with nothing but empty promises of saving people.
Over at the platform center, Pineapple Beer had watched the exact same memory.
Her expression stayed calm, but her fingers tightened around her dagger.
The black sword man saw her reaction and scowled
“Back then, everyone just wanted to survive! Was I wrong?”
PineappleBeer looked up at him.
“You didn’t finish the story.”
The black sword man froze.
