“PineappleBeer: Everyone who’s made it this far is a survivor–the toughest from their own regions, Guilds like Nightfall aren’t unique; there are definitely others like it out there, maybe even worse.
“PineappleBeer: So use these last few days of the safe period wisely. Grind mobs, level up, and stockpile everything you can. Once the servers merge, the new Overall Leaderboard will open. Top spots come with serious rewards–some are one–of–a–kind items.”
Riley let out a slow breath.
She’d thought reaching a Level 4 camp meant she could finally relax for a bit. Turns out, the real storm was just gathering on the horizon.
Top survivors from other regions…
Riley tightened her hands into fists.
Why be scared?
She’d deal with whatever came. She had high stats, dual axes, those “special” laxatives, Neeko, and a teleport card.
Even if the number one player from another server showed up at her gate, they’d have to buy a damn ticket first. D
“SpicyBurger: Got it. Thanks for the heads–up–this is solid intel.”
“PineappleBeer: Just looking out for mutual interests. Let’s both keep pushing.”
Once the chat closed, Riley sank into the couch and let everything sink in.
A class change at Level 10.
Server merges and the chaos that would follow.
The rhythm of this world kept speeding up, like an invisible whip was cracking at everyone’s heels, forcing them to move, always
move.
Riley exhaled heavily and was about to get up when a rich, creamy scent caught her attention.
She turned.
Neeko had shifted back to human form and was padding carefully across the room, holding a steaming wooden mug. She wore the little cotton pajamas Riley had made for her, bare feet quiet on the rug, her cat ears twitching gently.
“Riley… drink your milk,” Neeko murmured, holding out the cup with a gaze that practically begged to be praised.
It was the milk Riley had collected earlier. She hadn’t expected Neeko to heat it up and bring it over.
“Thanks,” Riley said, warmth spreading in her chest.
She pulled out the Sea Salt Cheese Lava Tart that TartKing had sent, set it on the coffee table, and broke off half for Neeko.
“C’mon, breakfast time.”

Riley took a bite.

The crust shattered crisply. Salty sea salt blended with rich, oozy cheese filling–sweet but not cloying. A sip of warm milk washed it down perfectly. It was heaven.
“So good!”
Neeko’s eyes sparkled as if she’d just tasted the world’s finest delicacy. A smear of creamy cheese clung to the corner of her mouth, and she squeezed her eyes shut in delight.
Watching her relish it so completely, Riley reached over and gently wiped Neeko’s mouth.
“Eat up. There’s plenty.”
Riley took another big bite herself.
Back in civilized society, a breakfast this high in sugar and calories would’ve been a sworn enemy of any fitness goal.
But now?
Please.
She had coal to mine in the caves today, mobs to grind to hit Level 10, and camp defenses to reinforce.
This many calories probably wouldn’t even last her till mid–morning.
Riley finished the last of her milk, handed the mug back to Neeko, and together they rinsed the cups with warm water.
“Busy day ahead. Let’s get to it.”
Riley walked over to the workbench and pulled out the Special Blueprint–Surveillance Camera Components she’d gotten from the silver chest.
“Crafting Requirements: Precision Electronic Components x2, Refined Iron x2, Copper Wire x5, Electrical Wire x2”
She had everything she needed. Now it was just assembly.
“Craft.”
A progress bar zipped across her vision.
Three minutes later, four palm–sized matte–black spherical cameras sat on the workbench. They looked sleek, almost futuristic- their lenses like cold mechanical eyes.
“Item: Hawkeye Model–I Wireless Surveillance Camera
“Quality: Fine
“Function: 360° rotation, infrared night vision, motion detection
“Connection: Wireless LAN (requires a display terminal for operation)”
Riley picked up her tablet.
