"Are you sure you took care of everything?"

Bennett's voice was formal, devoid of any emotion.

Gayle covered the phone's mouthpiece, her eyes darting around cautiously.

"Yes, it's all been dealt with. I think Violet lost her temper with Hanley after seeing those photos. I didn't expect her to get nothing out of it and end up making herself sick."

Gayle couldn't help but sound a little gleeful.

Violet and Ulysses were like two demons. One would insult her and pile on work at the slightest inconvenience; the other would hit and curse her without warning, laughing at her misery.

This family didn't deserve to live so comfortably.

"Well done. Someone else should be arriving at the hospital shortly. Just act normal and don't let them suspect anything."

"She's fine. The emotional distress just caused some complications with the pregnancy. Have the patient stay calm and stick to a simple diet."

His words were reassuring, and Gennifer breathed a sigh of relief.
