Her statement was met with complete silence.
The crowd of onlookers who had gathered to watch the drama exchanged strange glances, their gossip-filled eyes darting toward the pampered young lady.
The girl's face slowly turned from red to a sickly shade of green.
Ruby, seemingly oblivious, took out her phone and called Garrison. "Mr. Cloud, could you customize a brooch for me in the shape of a swallow?"
"Is it urgent? When do you need it?"
A gentle voice replied from the other end.
"Quite urgent. I might need to pick it up this evening."
Ruby continued her conversation as if nothing had happened.
"Hmm... that is a bit of a rush, but I happen to be free this afternoon. I can give it a try."
Garrison chuckled, his tone indulgent.
Ruby thanked him, hung up the phone with a satisfied smile, and prepared to leave.
She had only taken a few steps when a hand clamped down on her shoulder.
Feeling the pressure, Ruby turned with a frown and, as expected, was met with a twisted, furious face.
"How dare you play me?"
The pampered young lady was no longer looking so pampered. Her eyes were red with rage, and a network of broken blood vessels marred the whites of her eyes.
She didn't want any of that jewelry! She had clearly seen that Ruby was competing with her and had deliberately put on an act!
Ruby smiled, her expression one of pure innocence. "Excuse me, miss? What are you talking about? Playing you? I'm afraid I don't understand."
Her smile only infuriated the woman more.
"You knew perfectly well…"

Without a backward glance to see their reactions, she turned and left with her bag.
As she turned, the face of the baby in her arms became partly visible.
The young woman, who had been about to unleash her fury, suddenly froze when her eyes landed on the tender, adorable face.
"Abram, look at her…"
She tugged on the lead bodyguard's sleeve.
The bodyguard, Abram, followed her gaze, and his own eyes widened in recognition.
He then drew a sharp breath, his voice filled with astonishment. "That's…"
The young woman's palm tightened unconsciously. "You see it too, right? The resemblance is uncanny!"
