Bye-bye Trash! Hello Queen! novel Chapter 1031

Everyone looked toward the door, where police officers stood with their guns aimed right at them.

The group was stunned. How were there police? And how did they get here so fast?

When Joanna saw the officers, she finally let out a breath of relief.

The man clinging to her leg, however, just sneered. "So what if the police are here? I'm taking this woman's life today. What are you going to do about it?"

Suddenly, he produced a gun of his own and pointed it at Joanna's forehead.

Joanna froze. She had considered this might happen. She didn't want to die, but her legs felt like jelly.

Now it was up to the police to save her.

She looked at the officers at the door, her voice trembling as she cried, "Help me! Please, help me! I don't know who they are or why they're doing this to me."

Joanna knew that playing dumb was the fastest way to get rescued. She didn't struggle; she just stood there, looking terrified.

Now, with guns on both sides, it was a standoff.

She was betting the man in front of her wouldn't dare to shoot.

Trevor Wilson, who was standing near the door, was also completely baffled. How did the police arrive so quickly?

It was over. She knew she had been played by Joanna. This woman was terrifying.

"Joanna, you did this on purpose! You called the police beforehand, didn't you?"

Joanna didn't answer, just crying silently into her hands.

Meanwhile, the men standing by the door had already been subdued by the police.

That left only the three men in the room.

The police shouted, "Let the hostage go and you might get a lighter sentence!"

"To hell with a lighter sentence! You think this is my first time in prison?"

"Let my brothers go, or I'll put a bullet in this woman's head."

He jammed the barrel hard against her forehead, and a thin line of blood immediately welled on her pale skin.

The two men holding Joanna were also startled. They instinctively let her go and dropped to the ground, not daring to move.

Though Joanna looked terrified, her mind was completely calm.

Seizing this golden opportunity, she quickly scrambled to the side and pressed herself against the wall.

That single shot had neutralized the entire situation.

Eight officers swarmed in and subdued the three men in the hall.

"Ah! Let go of me! You bastards, do you know who I am? You dare to arrest me?"

Even after being shot, the man was still unbelievably arrogant.

Heโ€™d been in and out of prison his whole life; it was practically a second home to him.

But this time, he might be facing a sentence that would put him away for good.

Mr. Wilson had always covered for him before, but with the Wilson family on the brink of collapse, he didn't know who could protect him now.
