A flash of malice flickered in Joanna's eyes. With Marshall here, things wouldn't go so smoothly.
She had originally planned to strike while Mr. Spencer was at his most vulnerable and helpless, forcing him to hand over the company.
But now that Marshall had arrived, things wouldn't be as easy as she had anticipated.
She was furious. Marshall had appeared at the most critical moment, disrupting her plans.
Damn him!
"Marshall, Mr. Spencer's company has nothing to do with you. What are you doing here?" she asked, her voice dark and sullen.
"What am I doing?" Marshall sneered. "What am I doing? Didn't I just tell you? You're a little young to be having hearing problems, aren't you?"
Joanna sputtered, "You...!"
"Don't 'you' me, Joanna. I won't let you ruin Yves's company. As long as I'm here, I can kick Mr. Shaun out of the company."
"Who the hell do you think you are, sticking your nose into Spencer business?"
Joanna was enraged. Marshall's wicked and unruly appearance only fueled her anger. "Marshall, don't you forget what your precious Yves did to you. He tried to drag your family down with him using counterfeit goods. Is someone like that really worth your help?"
"Or have you not suffered enough at his hands?"
Joanna grew more agitated as she spoke. From what she knew of Marshall, he would never get involved in something like this.
After all, Yves and Maxwell had once tried to kill him.
Marshall looked at Yves, who wore an expression of shame. Only now did Yves understand that a family's prosperity was tied to its unity.
He had been too foolish before, thinking he could go it alone and lead the Spencer family to greater heights.
"Marshall, don't go too far. You think you're so great just because you have money?"
Marshall gave a cocky laugh, his posture one of pure, dangerous nonchalance. "Mr. Shaun, of course being rich is great. At a critical moment like this, it lets me grind you into the dirt."
"You want to be in cahoots with Joanna and trample on the Spencer family? I can make sure your Shaun family is run out of Yaro for good."
Marshall was smiling, but there was no warmth in his eyes.
"Marshall, I'd like to see what you can do to run me out of Yaro. The company's stock is falling, and I'm the largest shareholder now. What do you have to fight me with?"
Marshall grinned, a truly happy smile. "You're the largest shareholder? Fine. Then I'll just help my cousin Yves split the company. No matter how big your stake is, the company will fall apart. It'll be the perfect opportunity for Joanna to swallow your company whole."
Mr. Shaun's eyes widened in shock. Marshall was actually going to break up the company?!
