“Mmm, that feels so good. You’re getting better and better at this.”
“Once we get Jared’s money, we’ll leave this place. We’ve already got two million. His company is worth tens of millions, so once we get that ten million, we can live happily ever after on an island.”
“Mmm… just kiss me. Why are you wasting time with all that talk? That fool Jared trusts me completely. And it’s all thanks to you, working behind the scenes to frame Susan, that he and I could get to this point.”
“I’m getting married soon. After the wedding, I’ll get half his assets. I’ll file for divorce in a month, and then we’ll be free to live our lives.”
“Then you have to promise me you won’t go back to your two previous husbands. And you’re not allowed to see your child, either.”
“I know, I know. I only love you. I’ll only have your babies…”
What followed were sounds not fit for delicate ears.
The entire audience was stunned.
Jared froze, his eyes wide with shock, unsure how to react.
Humiliation, anger, and the fiery rage of betrayal crashed over him, one after another, making his chest ache.
Monica’s eyes widened in terror, her mind a complete blank, her heart pounding with horror.
“Who… who did this? Turn it off! Turn it off right now! That’s not me in the video! Don’t look, everyone, that’s not me…”
She hunched over, shrieking like a madwoman.
But no one paid her any mind.
The screen changed, and clips of her framing Susan began to play.
For instance, the time she planted a venomous snake in Susan’s bag.
“Do you even know what kind of snake that was? It was a highly venomous snake. If it had bitten me and I hadn't gotten the antivenom within half an hour, I would have died.”
“If I hadn't been cautious enough to go back and check the security footage, I’d already be dead because of you two.”
Susan stood up, her presence commanding, a joyful smile spreading across her face. The sweet taste of revenge was exhilarating.
Joanna was so angry she wanted to rip Susan’s mouth off. How did she know all of this?
“Don’t talk nonsense. The whole world knows how much the Scott family has done for me. I know you love my brother and you’re bitter you can’t marry him. I can take your slander, but you can’t ruin his wedding just because you can't have him. A vicious person like you doesn’t deserve happiness.”
Joanna shot Susan a provocative smile.
She was trying to use public opinion to sweep the incident under the rug, but no one in the crowd took her side. Her challenging smirk toward Susan instantly became awkward.
