Sebastian looked at her calmly and nodded slightly. "Fine. You saved my life, so I'll grant you this favor. If you want that piece of land, take it."
Joanna was surprised he'd agreed so quickly.
He had deliberately mentioned her saving him, reminding her that he was only granting this favor because of what she'd done.
Or perhaps, he still cared for her and was just keeping his distance to protect her from being labeled a homewrecker.
She smiled gently, her eyes reddening with gratitude. "Sebastian, thank you. I want to grow stronger, to be worthy of standing by your side. Then no one will have anything to say about us."
That useless Natalie could never be worthy of Sebastian.
And what she cast aside, she certainly wouldn't let Natalie have.
A mysterious smile played on Sebastian's handsome face.
He and Sean walked to their designated seats.
He saw Colin was there too, sitting right next to him.
Colin greeted him with a smile. "Mr. Griffith, here to buy land too?"
Sebastian frowned slightly, finding Colin's formal tone unfamiliar.
He hadn't seen Colin since that night, and now, he felt Colin had changed.
"Mr. Griffith, I heard you and Natalie are getting a divorce. When's it happening? Joanna is very fond of you. Haven't you been wanting to marry her all these years?" Colin asked with a smile.
Sebastian's brow furrowed, a murderous glint in his eyes.
He had said he would marry Joanna, but that was on the condition that she was the one who had saved him from that fire. But Joanna wasn't.
Natalie was the one who'd saved him—from the fire, and later, from the car crash that had left him crippled and blind.
