Marshall was very curious. “Natalie, what are you referring to?”
Natalie’s eyes gleamed with a deep smile. “Just wait for the good news. Eat up, the beef is ready. It'll get tough if we wait.”
Natalie quickly picked up a slice of beef and ate it.
Marshall, however, preferred the thinly sliced steak.
“Natalie, you like the beef, so have more. I prefer the steak.”
They ate and talked. Natalie brought up the idea of a foreign mother-and-baby product line, and Marshall agreed. After the new year, when spring arrived, the two of them would go abroad to negotiate a partnership.
Natalie felt that this winter was passing very pleasantly.
Matthew wasn’t involved in this sector, so her only option was to partner with Marshall.
They chatted as they ate, the atmosphere relaxed and friendly.
Meanwhile, Joanna really did go to the hospital. After they left the restaurant, she started to feel worse, a sticky, warm sensation giving her a bad feeling.
Last night, she and Robert had even used sex toys to spice things up.
Sebastian, annoyed, accompanied her through the check-up, glancing at his watch from time to time.
By now, Natalie and Marshall should have finished their dinner.
As a man himself, he knew exactly what Marshall's look at Natalie meant.
Marshall was pursuing Natalie too.
Sebastian stewed in his anger. The moment she left him, Natalie had completely let herself go.
Just then, the doctor who had examined Joanna walked over and asked, “Are you Joanna’s family?”
Sebastian gave a curt nod. “Yes.”
He never would have imagined her private life was so sordid.
Sebastian saw Joanna walking out, her eyes downcast from the discomfort.
Joanna was nervous. *Sebastian doesn't know I'm pregnant, right?* She had specifically told the doctor not to tell her husband.
Of course, by “husband,” she meant Sebastian.
However, she didn’t know that another doctor had informed her “family member” of her condition. It was their duty as doctors to inform a patient's family about their condition and necessary precautions.
She stood before Sebastian and forced a faint smile. “Sebastian, I’m fine. We can go back now.”
Sebastian frowned. “Are you sure you’re fine? You don’t need to be admitted?”
Joanna smiled. “No need. It’s just a minor issue, probably from stress. You know how upsetting Natalie can be.”
Sebastian’s brow furrowed, his sharp eyes boring into her. So her pregnancy was Natalie’s fault too? He scoffed. “Joanna, you really can’t handle a little stress, can you? Let’s go. Since you’re fine, we can head back.”
