Bye-bye Trash! Hello Queen! novel Chapter 717

Natalie nodded. "Alright. I'll go with you for questioning."

As Natalie was led into the police car, Luna fumed. That damn Joanna was always scheming against her sister. She drove off to find Herbert.

Meanwhile, Sebastian had just finished a meeting. Sean approached him, looking nervous. "Sir, we have a problem. It's about your wife. Someone has reported that she killed Mrs. Wilson last night. You need to see the news."

Sebastian's expression was cold and severe as he took the tablet from Sean. Reading the news, his eyes flashed with an icy glare. "It was Joanna. She's trying to clear her name. Natalie was with me and Marshall last night. How could she have killed anyone?"

Sean froze, stunned. "Sir, the three of you were… together?"

He swallowed hard, his mind clearly going to the wrong place.

Sebastian, not noticing his expression, walked into his office and called Joanna.

"Hello, Sebastian," Joanna's voice was soft and gentle.

Sebastian's tone was cold and ruthless. "Joanna, did I not warn you to leave Natalie alone?"

His chilling voice startled her, but her fear quickly turned to anger that he was calling her on Natalie's behalf. "Sebastian, it wasn't me! I didn't do anything! How could I possibly have the power to frame her? Yeri just felt bad for me and spoke out. I really didn't do anything."

Sebastian sat on the sofa, his tall frame exuding a cold, imposing aura that warned others to keep their distance.

"You know perfectly well whether it was you or not. I warned you not to play with fire. She is my wife. Slandering her is slandering me. Joanna, my tolerance for you has run out."

Sebastian hung up and had Sean come in.

"Sir."

Though his eyes burned with fury, Sebastian's voice was steady. "Crush the Yates family completely. Prepare to acquire their company. And tell Yeri that if she wants to be Joanna's lapdog, she needs to have the courage to face the consequences."

Sean was surprised, a look of delight crossing his face. "Sir, are you going to help your wife?"

He had taken her efforts for granted.

He was realizing he had been wrong. Everything he'd done concerning her, it seemed he had forced her into it.

He had wanted the divorce more than anything, but after Natalie agreed and signed the papers, some perverse impulse made him not want it anymore.

He used to think Joanna was the kindest person he knew.

He believed Natalie was just jealous and constantly schemed against Joanna.

Sometimes, when Joanna exaggerated, he would pretend not to notice.

From a young age, he had understood one thing: no one in this world truly loved him.

His grandparents' affection felt more like a duty. There might have been love, but it wasn't unconditional.
