Natalie felt a wave of relief. Mrs. Wilson was awake.
"Herbert, tell her not to worry. I'll be there in about an hour. Can you run a full check-up on her first? If everything looks okay, get her some broth or something easy to eat so she can get some food in her stomach."
Herbert reassured her, "Okay, will do. Don't worry, take your time getting here. Drive safely."
Natalie smiled playfully. "Alright, Herbert. And I'll treat you to lunch today."
"Wow! It's not easy to get you to join me for lunch. I'll make the arrangements. You just take your time. I'll go calm Mrs. Wilson down."
"Okay!"
After finishing her breakfast, Natalie packed her suitcase. She told Zenobia and Susan to stay and enjoy themselves, then called Luna to pick her up and take her to the hospital.
An hour later, she arrived.
She asked Luna to wait for her downstairs and went straight to Mrs. Wilson's room. She found her resting in bed, having already eaten her breakfast.
Seeing Natalie, she became emotional. "Natalie, you're here."
Her voice was choked with tears as she looked at Natalie, the woman who had saved her.
Natalie walked over and sat by the bed. "Mrs. Wilson, don't be upset. The fact that you're awake is the most fortunate thing."
"Yes!" She nodded with a smile. "Thank you for saving me. I know I would have died if I hadn't met you."
Her left leg was still immobile, but it had been saved. She was whole. There might be some lingering effects, but her limbs were intact.
"By the way, Natalie, have you seen my daughter at all during this time?"
She was very worried that her daughter might be in danger.
Natalie frowned. "Mrs. Wilson, I don't think your daughter likes you very much. The person who reported me for your murder was your daughter, Evelyn Carrington. She insisted I killed you, but she never once came looking for you. She seems to prefer..."
Natalie trailed off. Mrs. Wilson was still recovering, so she decided not to say more.
Mrs. Wilson stared blankly, biting her lip as tears rolled down her cheeks. "She doesn't like me because I'm very strict with her. But no matter how hard I tried, I couldn't seem to guide her properly."
"She always did the opposite of what I said. I forbade her from going to bars, telling her it was easy to be taken advantage of, but she wouldn't listen. She always felt that bars and nightclubs were where young people were supposed to be."
