"Luna, bring people to the basement. Susan's been kidnapped."
"Okay, I'm on my way with backup now!"
Natalie hung up and ran even faster.
Sebastian stayed right behind her, watching her desperate figure. When it came to her friends, she had always been so fiercely loyal.
"Sebastian."
Adrian suddenly ran out, blocking Sebastian's path.
Sebastian frowned at him, his voice laced with anger. "Get out of my way."
Adrian shook his head. "Sebastian, listen to me. What happened today was my fault…"
"I told you to shut up, didn't you hear me?" Sebastian’s striking face hardened instantly, radiating a terrifying hostility. His dark eyes blazed with pure fury.
Sebastian shoved past him and sprinted after Natalie.
As he ran, Sebastian called Sean.
"Sean, get some heaters and blankets. Bring them to the basement."
"Sir, did you find Ms. White?" Sean asked.
"Not yet. Just get some space heaters ready. Hurry."
The basement was at sub-zero temperatures. Without heating, a person wouldn't last long.
He wasn't sure if Susan was still in the basement, but being prepared would allow them to act fast.
"Right away, sir."
Sean hung up and went to get the equipment.
But after taking just a few steps, he noticed two men acting suspiciously in the parking garage.
One of them was on the phone.
Sean grew cautious and quietly followed them.
"Ms. Scott, Susan has been freezing in the basement for half an hour. Any longer and this could get serious. Should we let her out now?"
"Alright, I understand."
Sean froze. Ms. Scott?
"You two, get him out of here and dump him somewhere quiet."
The two bodyguards hesitated. "Mr. Monroe… this…"
"Go now. You've been exposed. Get out of here immediately, and don't get caught. We can't let this affect our plans. I'll wire each of you a million dollars. Go lie low for a while."
At the mention of money, the two men didn't hesitate. They dragged Sean away.
Luna was also heading from the garage to the basement.
As she hurried along, the two bodyguards' car sped past her.
In her haste, she tripped over something on the ground.
She looked down at what had tripped her, and her eyes widened in shock. She quickly pulled out her phone to call Sean.
A buzzing sound came from the ground.
Luna froze, staring at the phone under the car as her own phone slipped from her hand and clattered to the ground.
She was utterly stunned. Why was Sean's phone here?
