“Never,” Arthur said, holding her tightly.
Natalie watched them with a faint smile. It was refreshing to see a husband fight so fiercely to protect his wife, unlike Sebastian.
Sebastian saw the smile on her face, and a sharp pang of regret pierced his chest.
Meanwhile, Brittany’s face was ashen. Arthur really had called the police.
When the officers arrived, Brittany sat on the floor in a daze. She didn’t beg for mercy; she probably didn’t have the nerve to.
The Griffith family owed her absolutely nothing.
Hailey looked at Natalie. “Ms. Sanders, thank you for saving me. You saved me and my son. You’re our family’s savior. I’d like to be your friend, if that’s okay?”
Natalie knew of Arthur Griffith, a big name in the entertainment industry.
Becoming friends with his wife, especially after saving her and their child today, was a favor she was willing to accept.
Natalie smiled. “Of course, Mrs. Griffith. From now on, we’re friends. Let me introduce myself properly. I’m Natalie.”
“Natalie, I’m Hailey Lawson. Just call me Hailey.”
The two shook hands, exchanged contact information, and then Natalie and Sebastian left.
Natalie thought about what had just happened. Arthur would be able to save his relationship because when Hailey was in trouble, he had desperately pleaded for someone to save his wife. And when his wife was being bullied, he had stood firmly by her side.
Once inside the elevator, Natalie looked down, not saying a word.
Sebastian's expression turned grim. The exact same dynamic had often played out between him, Natalie, and Joanna.
But even when he saw Joanna’s manipulations, he would still side with her and say all sorts of cold things to Natalie.
Natalie would never forgive anyone from the Scott family again.
Herbert knew this would be her answer, but he smiled happily. “That’s the right attitude. We were all so worried seeing you put your heart into the Scotts, afraid you’d get hurt.”
“Grandpa was the shrewdest of all. He knew your personality—that you had to learn things the hard way.”
“He’s here now. I’ll do the surgery for him.”
Natalie nodded. “Okay. Herbert, with your skills, you can definitely get him back on his feet.”
She knew Herbert was an incredible surgeon.
He was also a man of great character, with no desire for material wealth, only a burning passion for medicine.
Just then, a mocking voice came from behind her. “Natalie, Jerome is still your brother. Can you really bear to watch him be disabled for the rest of his life?”
