A bucket of cold water was poured over Natalie's excitement. She looked at him with a puzzled expression. "Sebastian, what are you talking about? You know that agreement better than I do. I only heard about it from your grandmother. You signed it yourself. Why are you asking me such a question?"
Natalie carefully studied his features.
She couldn't find anything that didn't look like Sebastian, yet his voice just felt different.
It was the same voice, but the way he spoke had changed.
Natalie was almost certain in that instant: he was not Sebastian.
Sebastian got angry, but he was cold, not filled with such raw hostility.
Who was he?!
Natalie's heart pounded with shock.
Her gaze shot to his hand. It looked exactly like Sebastian's, but the familiar scar on his middle finger was gone.
Natalie's lips trembled. So, the location of his injury was wrong—the wound that should have been on his left hand was on his right.
His forehead hadn't been injured at all, yet it was wrapped in bandages.
Natalie was utterly shaken. So, Sebastian had been replaced.
Her own injuries hadn't been severe, yet she had been unconscious for three days and three nights.
The moment this man spoke, she felt the same terror from her past life.
This wasn't right. The man in front of her was not Sebastian.
He wasn't Sebastian.
The man who had killed her in her past life was this man right here.
With tears welling in her eyes, Natalie stared intently at Maxwell Griffith.
Joanna noticed Natalie scrutinizing Maxwell Griffith and shifted her body slightly to block her view.
Maxwell Griffith's expression was icy as he clenched his fists. Damn it. All that effort for nothing.
Natalie turned to Joanna, smiling as she offered her blessings. "Joanna, Sebastian, I wish you a long and happy life together. Oh, and by the way, after what you did to Robert’s child, you two shouldn't be in too much of a hurry. I wouldn't count on being a mother again anytime soon."
Having said her piece, Natalie felt a wave of satisfaction.
Queena pushed Natalie's wheelchair toward the exit, leaving a stunned Joanna behind.
Joanna hadn't expected Natalie to get one over on her after the divorce.
A dark voice sounded beside her. "Joanna, were you really pregnant with that man's child?"
Joanna tensed up, looking at him. "Sebastian, why would you think that? Can't you see Natalie was just trying to provoke us?"
He couldn't find any proof, could he?
Maxwell Griffith shot her a cold glance. "Did you think I wouldn't be able to find out? Joanna, I once told you that I would marry you because you understand me very well. I've let you have your way, but I hope you know when to stop."
