Bye-bye Trash! Hello Queen! novel Chapter 999

Joanna was left speechless by Natalie’s questions.

At the time, her thinking had been exactly as Natalie described: to use Caleb’s grandmother as leverage to make him work for her.

With a personality like Caleb’s, a little charity would have been enough to secure his unwavering loyalty.

But Natalie had gotten to him first.

“Hmph! He wasn’t even willing to work for me, so why should I have considered all that for him? It was just a condition I offered. He’s the one who didn’t accept it. Now he’s your man, so what’s the point in bringing this up?” Joanna said, resentful that she had somehow been one step behind.

Natalie smiled. “You’re right, it is pointless. Caleb’s grandmother is in excellent health now and will live a long, full life.”

Hearing this, Caleb looked at Natalie’s elegant profile and a faint smile touched his lips.

Joanna was furious. This couldn't happen. She couldn't let Caleb help Natalie; she had investigated his capabilities. “Natalie, you deliberately got close to Caleb and saved his grandmother, all so you could exploit his skills.”

She then turned to Caleb. “Caleb, Natalie is a liar. Don’t let her fool you.”

Natalie frowned, her gaze turning dark. Joanna was trying to drive a wedge between them, but it was too late for that now.

She smiled serenely. “Joanna, I actually have you to thank for introducing me to Caleb. The night your people kidnapped Luna and left her hanging from a high-rise for hours, I met Caleb by chance when I took her to the hospital after she was rescued. If it weren’t for your carefully planned kidnapping, I never would have met him. I really should thank you for that.”

Joanna’s fists clenched. So that was how Natalie had met Caleb.

“No wonder he refused to work for me when I found him. You manipulated him! Natalie, you have no shame. He’s just a student!”

Joanna deliberately twisted their relationship to distract from the kidnapping Natalie had mentioned.

Natalie found her ridiculous. She could sling mud so easily. “Joanna, when it comes to slander, you truly are better than anyone. Anyone who interacts with the opposite sex can be smeared by you. By that logic, does that mean you have an improper relationship with every man you know?”

“Of course not!” Joanna retorted quickly.

He knew who was good to him.

Natalie’s kindness was genuine.

The one who truly wanted to exploit him was Joanna.

Joanna had investigated him, which was why she had deliberately gone to the hospital to “help” him.

But Joanna’s help was a handout, a transactional offering for the endless use of his skills.

Natalie also knew it was time to get down to business. She placed all the documents on the table, her cool voice steady and unhurried. “To all executives and shareholders, the company is now under my name. All of Sebastian's assets are now mine.”

“For the senior management, if any of you don’t want to work for me, stand up and leave now. I have no interest in hearing your complaints.”
