CEO’s Regret After I Divorced (Serena and Ryan) novel Chapter 385

Chapter 385: Chapter 385 The Truth Revealed2

Author’s POV

Rancy looked up innocently, holding her rabbit and glancing between the adults, clearly sensing something was wrong. Maya quickly stepped over and lifted the girl into her arms, coaxing her to play in the nearby lounge. Though the little girl didn’t understand, she nodded obediently.

Once the child was gone, Ryan pulled out another file and placed it before Serena.

"This is the driver’s statement. This is the original hospital admission record. This is the medication list from after your amnesia." His voice was quiet, but more powerful than any accusation. "You didn’t leave the Blackwoods by choice, Serena. You lost your memory after the accident, and Cedric took advantage of that. He forged your identity and turned you into the ’Serena Lancaster’ he wanted you to be."

Serena’s fingers trembled. She stared at the names, dates, and signatures on the pages—cold black words piercing her mind like needles. She wanted to say it was all fake, but the weight in her chest grew heavier, until even denial felt weak and hollow.

"And this." Ryan pulled a sealed report from the last file and slowly pushed it toward her. "Rancy’s birth certificate."

Cedric’s face finally changed.

"Ryan." He gritted his teeth, panic seeping into his voice for the first time. "You have no right—"

"I have every right." Ryan cut him off coldly, his gaze sharp as a blade. "Because she is my daughter."

The words landed like a thunderclap, deafening Serena.

She snapped her head up, her breath ragged. "What did you say?"

Ryan looked at her, the pain in his eyes almost unbearable. He had not wanted to hit her with the truth so cruelly, but he had no other choice.

"When the accident happened three years ago, you were already pregnant." His voice softened, as if tearing open his own wounds. "Rancy is not Cedric’s daughter. She’s ours."

The color drained from Serena’s face. She stood frozen, struggling to breathe. She stepped back instinctively, her back hitting the sofa arm before she steadied herself.

Cedric stepped forward, as if trying to take her hand, his voice urgent, almost pleading. "Serena, don’t listen to him. They’re just taking advantage of your amnesia—"

"Shut up."

It was the first time Ryan had truly lost his temper that night.

He pressed play on the voice recorder. The technician’s trembling confession echoed clearly in the silent room:

"...Mr. Cedric told me to switch the samples. He said once the results came out, no one would be able to take her away..."

Each word struck like a hammer, shattering Cedric’s last pretense.

Serena stood stiff, her head ringing, the world blurring. She stared at Cedric as if seeing him for the first time. The tenderness she had once been grateful for, relied on, and tried so hard to believe in—now peeled away layer by layer, revealing the chilling calculation and obsession beneath.

Cedric’s face darkened. Seeing he could no longer hide it, his fake gentle expression finally cracked completely.

"Yes." He suddenly laughed, the smile cold and menacing. "I swapped the DNA. I falsified the records. So what?"

The room fell deathly quiet.

"If it weren’t for me, you would have died in that crash." Cedric stared at Serena, his tone wild and obsessive. "What right does Ryan have to stand here accusing me? I was the one who stayed with you. I took care of you. I gave you and Rancy a home. I was the one by your side for three years—not him!"
