Theodore gripped the magazine tightly in his hands, flipping through the pages. In truth, he didn't absorb a single word.

Rosalie felt like she was suffocating. She couldn't continue speaking to Sebastian. "Seb, I'll hang up now. I'm going to rest."

She was afraid that if she kept talking, she would lose control.

"Alright," Sebastian said, gently waving Steve's hand. "Steve, say goodbye to Mommy."

"Goodbye, darling." Rosalie waved at the camera.

Thinking about Steve made her heart ache deeply. This whole situation was just absurd. Steve's biological father was right next to her, but he could only remain invisible.

After a while, Rosalie ended the video call with Sebastian. She set her phone aside and covered her mouth, crying.

She was deeply upset. So many things had happened recently.

On one hand, Theodore suddenly appeared in Melrine with his pregnant girlfriend. On the other hand, there was Justin. And then, Sebastian had done something terrible and lied to her. Now, he had returned to their homeland with Steve.

Each incident was a terrible blow to Rosalie. When everything piled up together, it made her restless and uneasy. Her heart felt like it had been filled with cement, and it was unbearably heavy.

Seeing her cry, Theodore immediately came to her bedside. "What's wrong?"

Rosalie wiped her tears and shook her head. "It's nothing. I'm just...just a little worried about Steve."

"There's nothing to worry about. The child is with his father. Even a tiger doesn't eat its cubs," Theodore said.

Hearing his last sentence, Rosalie didn't know what to say.

On the other end, after the phone call ended, Sebastian held Steve in his arms.

"Steve, your mommy's lying to me. She's in the ward, but she didn't tell me. If I'm not mistaken, Theodore must be nearby, but she hasn't mentioned him once," Sebastian muttered.

"Steve, how could your mommy lie to me like this? I just came back to the country, and she couldn't wait to get together with Theodore.
