Yerick thought for a moment, then nodded.
"Yes, my mom was very stubborn. I've asked her who my father was many times, but she never told me. It was like she was protecting that man, afraid that I would go looking for him when I grew up. So, I still don't know who my father is."
Yerick leaned on the table, resting his chin in his hands, and sighed.
"I don't even know if my father is still alive."
Wesley immediately asked, "If he's alive and one day you find out who he is, what would you do? Would you hate him?"
"I... I don't know," Yerick's eyes were filled with confusion. "At first, I really hated him. There were many nights I couldn't sleep, and I would think about what I would do if I met him. I'd curse him, even hit him. But sometimes, I can't help thinking—what if my father isn't as bad as I thought? What if he just didn't know I existed? I want to know what it's like to have a father. I feel so conflicted."
The more Wesley listened, the sadder he felt.
He had the impulse to tell Yerick that he was his father; that he had never known of his existence and hadn't deliberately abandoned him.
Yet as the words came to his lips, Wesley couldn't bring himself to say them.
"Yerry," Wesley called softly.
Yerick looked up, his eyes filled with tears as he stared at Wesley.
"Yerry, if you're willing, you can think of me as your father," Wesley said.
Yerick hesitated for a moment, but when he saw Wesley's expression, he nodded. "Okay."
Wesley breathed a sigh of relief. "From now on, I'll be your godfather. If you need anything, don't hesitate to ask. I'll help you with whatever I can. Even if there's nothing urgent, feel free to reach out and we can just chat."
Wesley was both nervous and excited to have another son. It was such a blessing to meet him this way. What a twist of fate!
"Mr. Spencer, you're great. I'm sure your relationship with your son is wonderful. He has such a great father, and your wife has such a good husband. They must be very happy."
At the mention of this, Wesley's smile faltered. He felt guilty and quickly changed the subject. "Let's order some food."
It seemed Yerick noticed Wesley's attempt to avoid the topic, and he didn't push further.

The readers' comments on the novel: Chasing My Pregnant Wife (Rosalie and Theodore)
Why aren't u updating......
Unrealistic. What a comedy. If Sebastian and Rosalie are cousins, their families must have already prevented them to be together abroad. Isn't it bizarre that nobody is doing something to let them know of their family relationship? And pls stop putting Aurora in a high pedestal. Your readers want Rosalie to be genuinely happy, free of stupid misunderstanding. Thank you....
Another garbled story with lots of gibberish. Absolute rubbish. I got to chapter 26 and can't anymore...
Too many people involve.. sigh~ this is like the most angst novel i've read.....
I just wish one thing...that the writer will not bring too many unnecessary and unrealistic twists, too many misunderstanding, miscommunication that gives the reader the hint not to continue with the novel. In the long run, We lost our interest in this kind of unending plot....
Thanks for the update !...
