DAMIEN’S POV
Rose’s lips were still on mine, soft and warm, tasting like the little mint she’d popped earlier. I couldn’t stop smiling against her mouth. The way she’d just tossed Scarlett out like yesterday’s trash? Pure gold. My girl was a force, and I was the luckiest bastard alive.
Clam
I pulled back just enough to breathe, forehead resting against hers, and then I started laughing- quiet at first, then full-on, shoulders shaking.
Rose tilted her head, eyes sparkling with confusion and amusement. “What’s so funny?”
I grinned wider, hands still resting on her hips where she straddled me. “I just can’t get over that day.”
She raised a brow. “What day?”
“The day they came to survey the Crescent Moon territory.” I chuckled again just thinking about it.” You know I doubted Queen Emilia when she said we should let them come. I was like, ‘They’re going to poke around, take pictures, make offers.’ But she just smiled that scary-calm smile of hers
and said, ‘Let them see.”
Rose’s lips twitched. She already knew where this was going.
“So they show up,” I continued, voice dropping like was telling a campfire story. “Fancy suits, clipboards, drones, the whole show. They start walking the perimeter, measuring, talking about resorts and luxury cabins. First day, they’re all confident-chest out, voices loud. Then the growls
start.”
Rose’s eyes lit up. She loved this part.
“Low at first,” I said. “Like distant thunder. They freeze. Look around. Pretend they didn’t hear
anything. Then our warriors dart through the trees shadows moving so fast the humans can’t
even catch a glimpse. Just blurs. Branches snapping. Leaves rustling. One of the guys drops his tablet and almost pisses himself.”
Rose snorted, covering her mouth.
“They tried to act tough,” I went on. “Kept saying, ‘It’s just wildlife,’ ‘Probably wolves,’ like they
weren’t sweating bullets. But they came back the next day. Stubborn idiots. That’s when Emilia decided to step it up.”
I leaned closer, voice dropping to a dramatic whisper. “The growls got louder. Deeper. The warriors multiplied-every shadow had eyes. And then… Emilia raised one hand. Just one. And the whole forest shook. Trees trembling. Ground rumbling. Birds exploding out of the canopy. It looked like the earth itself was pissed off.”

Rose burst out laughing, head tipping back. “Oh my God, I wish I’d seen their faces.”
Claim
“They screamed,” I said, grinning so hard my cheeks hurt. “Full-on, high-pitched, running-for-their-lives screams. One guy tripped over his own feet, dropped his phone, left it there. They didn’t even look back. Just bolted. Tires squealing. Gone. And just like that… our land stayed
ours.”
Rose wiped a tear from the corner of her eye, still giggling. “Humans are so stubborn. And so funny.”
“You can say that again.” I brushed my thumb along her jaw. “We’ll keep our lands closed. Away from them. It’s ours to protect. Until we’re ready to open it-if we ever are-it stays hidden. No
resorts. No tourists. Just us.”
The room went quiet for a moment. The kind of quiet that feels full instead of empty.
Rose looked at me, really looked, eyes soft and serious. The playfulness faded into something
deeper.
“I love you, Damien,” she said quietly. “Thank you for doing so much for me. Even when I was just your maid… you were always nice to me. Gentle. Respectful. You’re a good man.”
My chest tightened. I cupped her face with both hands, thumbs stroking her cheeks.
“I love you too,” I said, voice low and rough. “And I’ll always protect you. Always.”
She leaned in and kissed me again-slow this time, tender, like she was pouring every feeling into it. Then her hand slid down my chest, lower, fingers brushing the buckle of my belt.
I caught her wrist gently. “Rose…”
She pulled back just enough to meet my eyes. “Damien, I’m fine. You know the queen’s blood is powerful. I don’t feel weak. I feel… normal. Better than normal.”
I searched her face, worry still gnawing at me. “I’m just scared I’ll hurt you.”
She smiled-small, wicked, beautiful. “You won’t. And didn’t you say I handled those humans pretty well?” She tilted her head, teasing. “And just now I threw a grown woman out of your office by her hair. I think I can handle you.”
I opened my mouth to argue, but she shut me up with another kiss-deeper, hungrier. Her fingers worked my belt open, button, zipper. Before I could think straight, she had me in her hand, stroking
slow and sure.
A groan ripped out of my throat. “f**k, baby…”
She lifted herself up, lined us up, and sank down in one smooth motion.
My head fell back against the chair. “Fuck.”

She moaned-soft, breathy-and I immediately clamped a hand over her mouth, eyes wide.
“Quiet for me,” I rasped. “Wouldn’t want my assistant hearing you.”
She nodded, eyes sparkling with mischief, and started moving.
Slow at first. Rolling her hips. Taking me deeper. Her hands braced on my shoulders, nails digging in just enough to sting.
I slid one hand up under her dress, palming her breast, thumb brushing over her n****e through the thin fabric. She arched into my touch, biting her lip to stay quiet.
My other hand gripped her ass, guiding her rhythm, helping her ride me harder, faster.
The only sounds in the room were our heavy breathing, the wet slap of skin on skin, and the creak of the leather chair beneath us.
She leaned forward, mouth against my ear. “Damien…”
I swallowed her next moan with a kiss, tongue sliding against hers, drinking in every little sound
