We had no reception here. The weather was already getting worse, so I figured maybe he just wanted to take a quicker route home without wasting time.

"I’m not scared, but I would like to know where we’re going," I tried to keep my voice calm. Not because I thought he was taking me somewhere dangerous. I could trust Emmet with my life, even if he were drunk out of his mind. But I was curious.
