Chapter 13
Snowflakes
Finished
When the morning sun came bathing my face, I fluttered my eyes open to stare at the blank space, the silence filling me in a way I never expected.
Who would have thought I would sleep soundly for the first time since discovering my husband is a cheater?
I blinked quietly, trying not to think about anything today. Not about the stranger. Not about his kiss. It’s gone, just like my ugly past, right?
That question was resting on my mind when the sound of my cellphone beeped, dragging my attention. I reached for my phone and stared at the screen, freezing at the text from my brother’s fiancée, Sera.
We are having breakfast together, Snow. Father and your brothers want you home. They are working from home today. See you soon.
I paused for a long time, reading and rereading so I wouldn’t miss a single detail.
My Frost family wanted to see me?
I suddenly shot up from the bed, dashing to the bathroom to bathe and brush my teeth. By the time I stepped into my closet, I was already searching for a dress and dolling myself up quickly.
In no time, I grabbed my bag and went off, descending the spiral staircase. When I reached the living room, Ana hurried over with a smile, and I slowed down to wait.
“Madam, good morning. There’s breakfast in the kitchen, cooked by your husband. Should I dish it out?”
I paused.
Good goddess… for a moment, I had completely forgotten Ares existed in my life. A husband?
“He made breakfast for me?” I asked again to be sure, and Ana nodded immediately.
“Before he left for the office this morning.”
I sighed. Ares Bani was a clever man. He knew exactly how to manipulate his way into anyone’s heart. He had done it to me four years ago and succeeded… but this time, I refuse.
“I’m going home. Don’t stay up late for me. I’ll text you if I won’t be coming back tonight,” I told Ana, and before she could respond, I was already heading to the garage, getting into my

I couldn’t tell what emotion was stirring in my chest. Fear or excitement, or both.

It had been four years since I stood under the same roof with my human family. I wondered what they would say, how they would look at me.
I stopped at the traffic light, my fingers tapping the wheel while I waited for it to turn green, just as the newscaster’s voice boomed from the billboard ahead. When I lifted my head, I saw her.
My brother Kashi’s girlfriend, Mirena Daylight.
The youngest daughter and heiress of Daylight News, the powerhouse of the entire news industry.
“The death of a billionaire business tycoon has shaken the human region and werewolf territory. Mr. Hanba Billions was murdered in his vacation house last night, minutes before he was scheduled for a press briefing. Investigation is ongoing and we…”
The newscaster’s voice faded into the background along with the jolly Christmas music.
Wait.
Mr. Hanba?
His vacation house was only a few blocks from Mooncrest Pack. Who would have…
I stiffened, my face instantly draining of color.
The stranger who kissed me.

When I drove into the Frost Family House, F.F.H., I was still reeling with too many thoughts. But the moment the sight of the house met my eyes and the familiar family aura settled over my nerves, everything vanished.
I parked at the garage, but I couldn’t bring myself to step out yet. Guilt and shame pulsed through my veins. Memories, warm and pleasant ones, flooded me, and I sighed.
How stupid I had been to throw all this away for a man.
I drew a deep breath, gathering courage, and finally opened the car door.
Clutching my bag, I reached for the front door, but before I could open it, it swung wide. And the eyes that stared back at me made all the air leave my lungs.

Chapter 13-
My father.

Finished
Not by blood, but the only father I ever knew. His presence alone made every fiber of my being tremble. He was the one who raised me without a mother, and I still dared to disobey him.
Before I could say anything, he stepped aside and walked deeper into the house, leaving the door open for me. I had no choice but to follow.
But the moment I entered the living room, my heart stopped.
Sera was right.
My three brothers were home, actually home, and all seated in the living room. My father took his seat on the couch now, remote in hand, eyes on the TV where the news continued playing.
My brothers noticed my presence instantly, of course, but they kept their eyes on their laptops and documents, giving me no choice but to do the right thing.
Goosebumps rose all over my skin as I stared at the loves of my life. Slowly, I sank to my knees in silence. We were raised in peace, harmony, love, and respect. To obey and protect each other.
I betrayed that bond, and I knew it.
On my knees, I tried to hold myself together, hold back the sorrow and shame, but everything slammed straight into me.
My biological family knew all the secrets and stayed silent.
My mother called me barren.
And these people… these ones I abandoned… were the ones who had fought to get me justice.
The weight of it made my eyes burn, and before I could hold in the sob, it escaped.
“I’m sorry. I’m so sorry for being stupid. I’m so sorry.”
I repeated it over and over, each apology heavier than the last until they all stopped pretending to work and gave me the gaze I’d missed for so long.
Concern. Love. Admiration. All unconditional and right then, I knew I was home. So deeply, finally home.
“The food is ready and…” Sera’s voice cut into the moment as she walked in, then paused when she saw me kneeling there. “You’re home.”
Of course I am home.
