Chapter 306
Snowflakes
It suddenly felt too heavy, too lonely when I pushed open the door of my house and walked in to see no one, not him.

Everywhere, the nooks and crannies was tidy and comfy, but he wasn’t here, and that absence carved something hollow inside my chest.
I had called him a while ago; Desmond answered, voice calm and careful, saying Cupid was in a meeting. I didn’t press. I just thanked him and ended the call.
Quietly, I walked toward the table and placed the Love Avenue file and Mr. Lins’s documents, both retrieved from H.O.W.L. on the surface.
During our short holiday, I would review them. Dig deeper. Because I wouldn’t let any of them walk away so freely. Not Ares. Not Viviana. Not whoever else was still hiding in the shadows.
Tiredly, I went into the bedroom, dropped my bag, and freshened up.
When I returned, I changed into my nightdress, soft cotton that still carried Cupid’s faint scent and headed to the refrigerator for dinner. There was no cooked food. I couldn’t muster the energy to start cooking.
Then I saw the snacks from the Mane triplets.
I smiled small, genuine and reached for them. I carried the packet to the living room, settled on the rug beside the low table, opened it, and began munching as I flipped open the first page of the Love Avenue file.
That was when I heard footsteps at the doorstep.
I paused.
The steps stopped.
Silence.
I paused too, feeling it.
The energy. Someone was there.
Feroz’s men? Cupid?
The doorbell rang.
I swallowed hard at the sound. Quietly, I rose from the rug and made my way to the door. Through the peephole I saw a woman unfamiliar, beautiful, elegant, unmistakably a werewolf.
She stood with a straight back, face impassive, not a hint of friendliness. If anything, her gaze felt cold.
I opened the door slowly.
She stared at me for a heartbeat, then, as though she owned the entire world, she stepped forward, brushing past me without invitation.

I froze in shock.

She entered like she belonged here, exploring the space with casual entitlement before stopping in front of the large framed photo of Cupid Godlike on the wall.
“Who are you?” I asked, voice low and incredulous. “You know I can sue you for trespassing”
“It’s my fiancé’s estate,” she murmured, almost under her breath. “How do you mean trespass?”
I went still.
What did she just say?
She turned as though she’d heard my thoughts.
“Cupid Godlike and I are betrothed,” she said, voice smooth and cutting. “I guess he didn’t tell you. He can be like that sometimes. Rarely speaks the truth. Tells lies to ordinary, broken people like you.”
She walked forward, smiling, cold, superior.
“Snowflakes Frost. Mooncrest. Wolfless. Raped at seventeen. Married at Eighteen. Divorced at nearly Twelve two.” Her eyes dragged over me. “He’s probably had sex with you multiple times, and that got to your head. You love him. He probably said he loves you too, and you believed him. But let me tell you the truth. Cupid doesn’t love you. You mean nothing to him. He’s a man trained for things like that, uses his handsomeness to brainwash, his words to brainwash, his body to brainwash. You’re under his spell.”
She smiled wider.
“I came here tonight, politely to ask you to leave. Or I will rain hell. If you weren’t from a wealthy home, I’d call you a gold digger. Or are you just a harlot? Love his dick that much? I know how intoxicating he can be in bed, and that’s one of the reasons I want him. Move out. Stop calling him. And I’ll let you walk away freely.”
She looked down at me, eyes dragging again, then turned toward the door.
I spoke quietly.
“When next you come here, make sure it’s with an invitation.”
She paused, turned slowly, staring at me in disbelief.
“Trespass once again,” I said, “and I will sue.”
She went still, stunned by my response but I was already at the door.
I slammed it shut in her face.
I stood there, shaking.
Silence fell.
