I, for one, have never liked Beta Sky one bit. Not from the first moment I laid eyes on him, and certainly not after.
The only reason I’ve stayed respectful toward him all this time is because my father held him in such extraordinarily high esteem.
But now?
Now I intend to look into him, really look into him deeply.
I hurried toward the living room the moment I sensed my father’s presence, my heart already pounding with resolve.
But the instant I stepped inside, I froze mid–stride, rooted to the spot by the scene unfolding before me.
All my siblings were there except Almira. Rosella sat huddled on the couch, her face streaked with tears, her body jerking with soft, hiccuping sobs.
Beta Sky stood rigid at the window, arms folded tightly across his chest, radiating barely contained fury.
My father sat in his usual chair, unnaturally still, while a scattering of photographs lay spread across the low table in front of him.
The sight of them made my blood turn to ice.
Desmond lingered silently near the entrance, offering no words, no comfort.
The photos were countless, every single one of me and Snow together. There was no hiding anymore. Rosella had told them everything.
“How long has this been going on?” My father’s voice emerged quiet and steady, deceptively calm. I knew that tone all too well; it was only a matter of time before the storm inside him broke. “How long has it been going on, Cupid?”
“Father…”
“You know what? No need for an explanation.” He cut me off, his voice still soft, before lifting his gaze to meet mine. A small, sinister smile curved his lips. “I’ve already called Yenda. He’s informing your PR team right now. They’ll announce your marriage to Rosella.”
“Dad…”
Before I could finish the word, he suddenly surged to his feet and flipped the table with a violent sweep of his arm. Photographs cascaded to the floor like fallen leaves.
Tension flooded the room, thick and suffocating.
Yenda’s smile widened secretly, bright with malicious delight at seeing someone else, me finally on the receiving end of Father’s wrath.
Catherine and Lindy exchanged beaming glances, barely hiding their glee. Desmond remained utterly silent, a shadow against the doorway.
Alpha Ruis raked trembling fingers through his hair, struggling to contain the rage rolling off him in waves.

“Before the whispers start, before anyone dares say I can’t control my own family, that I can’t keep my sons in line, before the mockery pours in that my own son has disobeyed me, disrespected me, you will marry Rosella next week. That is final.”
Silence crashed down, heavy and frigid.
Rosella resumed her theatrical sobbing, positioning herself as the ultimate victim.
I fought to hold my tongue, biting back every furious word, for the very last time. This was it. As a father, his decision was absolute. As an Alpha, his word was law. As a godfather, his order was the ultimate command.
But this was about Snow. About how deeply I loved her. About the future we could build together. I had reached the point where ! understood, bone–deep, that life without her in it would never hold real happiness again.
“Father,” I said, voice steady despite the tremor in my chest, “I love her.”
The words landed like stones in still water.
That single confession could mean so many things. Insolence to a father, defiance to an Alpha, outright rebellion against a godfather.
“I told you he was up to no good!” Beta Sky exploded, slamming his fist against the window frame. “I warned you he would betray you one day. I begged you to cut ties with him before he grew too powerful, too unstoppable but you refused. ‘He’s my son, my beloved son,‘ you always said. Now look. He’s rebelling.”
I went completely still.
Oh. So that was it. Beta Sky had been quietly twisting my father’s mind against me all this time. But why?
“Let’s settle this simply,” my father said at last, his tone final, unyielding. “You marry Rosella, and we allow your little mistress to live. Disobey, and she dies.”
It was no bluff. I knew this man too well. He never spoke idle threats.
I found myself backed into the tightest corner of my life, until the front door opened.
My grandmother. My father’s mother.
“You will let the boy be, Ruis,” she snapped, striding in with unshakable authority. “He will marry whoever he chooses.”
Beta Sky moved to interrupt. “Mother, this isn’t a conversation you’re supposed to…”
“This is precisely the conversation you have no right to speak in,” she cut across him, her voice quiet but laced with steel. “Don’t you dare interrupt while I am addressing my son, and while Cupid is speaking to his father. You are the one here with no standing to utter a single word.”
Beta Sky froze, face flushing crimson with humiliation and anger. I had always known my grandmother despised him from the very beginning.
“Ruis.”
“Mother, please,” my father murmured, his iron resolve visibly cracking. That was the thing about him when it came to his own mother, he became simply a son again, softer, more yielding.
“Why don’t you calm yourself and actually listen to your child?” she said, her tone gentling. “You’ve been far too strict with all of
