When the car pulled up to the massive and sacred court that stood between the human region and the Werewolf Territory, I took a deep breath and whispered a quick prayer.

Not in a million years had I imagined I’d be here, standing to finalize a divorce from a man I once walked up to through an aisle and vowed never to leave, even when darkness seemed endless.

Except, I never walked up to Ares through an aisle. Our marriage had been nothing more than a signature on paper. No ceremony, no warmth, no truth. It was a life built on lies, and today, this morning, I would finally be freeing myself from him.

I opened the car door and alighted, Ana by my side, my eyes scanning the surroundings. Reporters had gathered, drawn by yesterday’s public announcement from Mirey, eager to get a statement from me.

My brother Kashi had prepared me. He had called, sent a car, and reminded me not to be intimidated or scared. Looking around now, I believed he was right. My eldest brother Roc had already arrived. His car was parked in the garage, his energy radiating even from a distance. Today, he would sit at the highest seat in court, performing the role he was born to

execute.

I turned to Ana, offering a reassuring smile. Yesterday had gone smoothly with her help. Clothing, meals, and moral support. Last night, had passed the night on the couch, expecting Ares to show up with his mistress, but he didn’t. Probably wasted somewhere, lost in his own indulgence.

“Snow!” My brother Kashi’s voice broke through the morning air, and I hurried toward him, aware that the reporters were inching closer.

I went into his arms, and he kissed my hair lightly.

“The session is about to start,” he said, stepping back, sharp and authoritative in his suit. “Roc wants to know if the witness can be trusted before we step into the court.”

I smiled faintly, glancing at Ana.

“She is a good woman and has witnessed everything firsthand. She will give her testimony, right Ana?”

Ana bowed her head, loyalty shining in her eyes

“I am very loyal, Madam.”

Kashi nodded, satisfied, and took my hand, leading me toward the courtroom. Reporters pressed close, but I held my ground.

Inside, I froze for a moment. Ares Bani had already arrived, seated with his lawyer from White and Co law Form. Lawyer Rusi, familiar from past dealings with Neils White, his boss. My stomach twisted; I knew he was up to no good.

But I had nothing to fear. My brothers were here. Kashi had a streak of never losing a case.

“Order!” the clerk’s voice rang through the hall, signaling the beginning of the session.

I was guided to stand in my place, facing the massive carvings of the full moon representing the Werewolf Territory, and the greenery representing the human region.

Sacredness descended as Roc entered, his presence commanding and powerful. Seraphine Castle was indeed fortunate to be engaged to him.

I overheard the soft footsteps of Sera and Mirena as they entered to take their seats. Pinky was absent, likely busy, and Eshan was too angry to attend. Even Roc’s patience could barely contain the tension.

“Your Honor,” Kashi began respectfully, stepping forward, “we are here today to make the divorce official between Snowflakes Frost, my client, and Ares Bani. He was…”

“Ares Bani will not be divorcing his wife, Your honor,” Lawyer Rusi interjected, rising from his seat. A small, intimidating smile tugged at his lips. “Ares Bani will not be divorcing Snowflakes Frost.”

Kashi’s gaze snapped to him, unwavering, then returned to the judge.

“I present the signed divorce papers Ares Bani executed, agreeing to this divorce. Snowflakes Frost has filed due to Ares Bani’s infidelity; he has been sleeping with his secretary for years.”

A heavy silence fell across the court, but Rusi remained calm.

“Do you have evidence of his cheating, Lawyer Hashi?” Rusi asked, jaw tight, his disdain for Kashi evident. “Anything that proves my client,res Bani, has been unfaithful or are you merely making baseless claims?”

He stepped closer, eyes locking on mine, trying to unsettle me.

“Or are you a delusional woman, unable to distinguish reality from fiction?”

Kashi’s voice cut quietly but firmly through the tension.

“Speak with facts, Lawyer Rusi. We have a witness.”

“As do I,” Rusi replied, stepping back, focusing on Roc. “Your honor, I have a witness who will testify that Snowflakes Frost is delusional, suffering from trauma and madness since being raped at seventeen. She cannot tell the difference between reality and delusion.”

I felt my blood run cold. My heart pounded as I turned to Ares.

“That’s a lie,” I murmured, shocked that he would stoop so low. “Ares, that’s a lie.”

He didn’t respond, his subtle smile betraying his confidence.

Kashi stepped forward, eyes burning into Rusi.

“You can be sued for making such claims. How dare you call a Frost mad in this sacred court, where no lies are to be uttered?”

The cameras clicked, tension thick in the air. I knew Ares had us cornered, but which witness would support this false claim?

“I will call my witness, Your Honor,” Rusi said, glancing at Roc. The judge nodded, compelled by law, and Rusi pointed toward Ana.

“My witness, please step forward and give your testimony.”

My knees nearly buckled as Ana took the stand, face lowered, unable to meet my eyes. She swore to speak the absolute truth. Loyalty over fear.

“I am Ana, the maid,” she began softly. “It is true. Madam has shown symptoms of madness for months now.”
