In the Zimmer house, Mandy was fidgeting anxiously.
Lilian sneered coldly, "What are you so anxious about? He is just a useless live-in son-in-law. Even if he is dead now, it is fine as long as he ensured your safety. I n fact, it's better for him to die, you don’t have to go through the divorce process then." 2
"Mother, if not for him, I wouldn't have been able to come back today..." Mandy was very scared at the moment. If Harvey had not figured out a way to let her leave, she could not imagine what would have happened to her.
"So what? Although he saved you today, the matter regarding the commercial center hasn't been resolved yet. If you don't solve the main issue, your safety is only temporary!" Lilian was mean, but not stupid. She immediately pointed out the crux of the issue.
Xynthia agreed and said, "Sister, don't worry. I think Harvey made the whole thing up. He is afraid that you will divorce him, so he found someone to act just to make you thank him. You must not be fooled. Maybe h e will be back in a while.”
Just as Xynthia said that, the door was pushed open, and Harvey walked in without any injuries.
Xynthia snorted and said, "It seems that I guessed right!"
Lilian also despised Harvey, and believed a little bit of what Xynthia had said. There might be no Covey Chad at all, all of it could have been made up by Harvey. This live-in son-in-law was truly disgusting.
Mandy glared at her mother and sister. These two people had not experienced what had happened to Harvey and her earlier, so they were just guessing. However, she had personally experienced it and understood that Harvey had paid a huge price for her.
Seeing Harvey walking into the living room, she rushed to him and looked him up and down a few times. After making sure that he was not injured, she whispered, "Are you okay? Is the matter resolved?"
"I'm fine.” Harvey smiled. “I did not expect you to care about me so much."
Mandy blushed after hearing that, then mumbled softly, "I'm just afraid of... wasting medical expenses..."
Harvey smiled fondly, then said, "Well, let's not talk about this. The matter has been resolved and the construction can start smoothly tomorrow."
