Clumsy Beast, Keep Your Paws Off novel Chapter 132

Chapter 132: Chapter 132: Who is Luo Chen?

The moment the name came out, both Hu Yan and her father froze at the same time. Their expressions darkened instantly.

They looked at each other, eyes wide, and then said together in shock, "Luo Chen? An owl beastman?"

The air in the cave suddenly turned heavy. Su Qinglan blinked, confused. "What? You both know him?"

Her father’s jaw tightened. He looked furious but quickly took a deep breath to calm himself down so he wouldn’t scare her. "I’ve heard that name before," he said in a low voice. "He’s dangerous. But tell me, what did he say to you exactly? Why did he want to kill you?"

Su Qinglan shrugged, looking helpless. "I don’t know, Father. He just acted strange, like some psycho beastman who decided I was his enemy for no reason. He didn’t even try to explain. He left me hanging on that cliff, but I managed to escape. Then... I met Xuan Long, who took care of me."

Her father blinked. "Xuan Long? And who is that?"

Su Qinglan hesitated for half a second, then said carefully, "He’s... my new beast husband."

Her father froze again, his eyes going wide. Then suddenly, his whole face lit up. "Good! Good!" he said happily, laughing. "My daughter is all grown up now! Another good beastman, eh?"

At that moment, Xuan Long walked into the cave. His tall figure filled the entrance, his long black hair flowing behind him, and his calm eyes landed on Su Qinglan first before glancing at her father.

Her father went silent for a moment, clearly impressed by the man’s presence. Su Qinglan quickly stood up and said excitedly, hoping her father would like him too. "Father, this is Xuan Long."

Su Mingxuan looked at him up and down, his expression slowly softening. He could see the quiet strength in the man’s eyes...the steady kind that promised protection.

Even though Xuan Long was a snake beastman, a feral kind by nature, the way he looked at Su Qinglan wasn’t wild or possessive. It was calm, deep, and sincere.

Her father nodded with approval. "Good. Very good," he said. "You look like someone who can protect her."

Then, curiosity flashed in his eyes. "Tell me, how strong are you, young man? How many stripes do you have? I can’t see any marks on you."

Xuan Long tilted his head slightly, puzzled. "Stripes? I don’t have any marks on my scales," he said honestly.

Her father blinked, confused. "No stripes? How can that be?"

Even Hu Yan looked puzzled. "Yeah, that’s true. I never saw any on you either..."

But she quickly waved her hands and said, "Ah, Father, don’t start interrogating him like that...! Just let him be. He’s a good man, and that’s what matters, right?"

Her father looked at her, then laughed heartily. "You’re already taking his side, aren’t you? You’ve forgotten your poor old father!"

Su Qinglan smiled sheepishly, scratching her head. "I didn’t forget you, Father. I’m just saying...don’t scare him away."

Hu Yan chuckled quietly from the side, while Xuan Long simply smiled, his calm eyes softening as he looked at her.

Xuan Long, as always, waited patiently until everyone else had started before touching his food. His hand hovered over the bowl for a moment...he still wasn’t very used to the heat of cooked food, but when he saw how Su Qinglan smiled every time she ate it, he decided to learn.

In the beginning, he used to force her to eat raw meat like a beastman. He thought that was how things worked. But now, when he saw how much she loved warm, soft food cooked over fire, he realized how stupid he had been.

So that’s why she barely ate back then, he thought, guilt weighing on his chest. I should have asked her what she wanted instead of assuming.

He sighed quietly and finally took a bite. It wasn’t perfect to his liking, but it was good, and Su Qinglan liked it. That was enough.

They had only just started eating when a sharp, screeching voice broke the peace.

"Well, well," the voice rang from outside, full of mockery. "You’re really something! I’m starving out there, and you’re here eating so many good things. Don’t you think you should share some with your mother?"

The words resonate in the cave like an ugly bird screech.

Su Qinglan froze, her expression immediately turning ugly. Her father’s face stiffened, the piece of meat he was about to eat falling silently from his chopsticks.

Hu Yan and the others exchanged dark looks. None of them looked happy.

Xuan Long’s gaze went cold as ice. Who dares to come here and talk to his female like that? His tail twitched behind him, barely restrained.
