Clumsy Beast, Keep Your Paws Off novel Chapter 218

Chapter 218: Chapter 218: Good thing he wasn’t born in my world!

Su Qinglan finished sorting the herbs, fruits, and dried meat, her hands moving quickly but her mind still stuck on one thing: the missing third pregnant female.

The thought sat in her chest like a stone.

Still, she forced herself to sit down and eat something first. Her stomach was empty and cold, and she needed strength if she was really going to search the mountain later.

Hu Yan warmed some broth on the little stone stove. The smell made the house feel cozy again. She ate quietly, trying to calm her racing thoughts.

But the moment she swallowed the last sip...

A warm hand wrapped around her wrist.

Hu Yan.

He didn’t say a word. He simply tugged her gently but firmly toward the sleeping corner.

Su Qinglan blinked. "...What?"

Hu Yan just stared at her with those deep, calm eyes and tugged again.

She still didn’t understand. Why was he being so clingy all of a sudden?

But then...Ah...right.

She remembered the moment she had to go down the mountain earlier.

And Hu Yan has refused to allow her to go down, so she has promised him that they will cuddle together.

She wanted to smack her forehead. How could she forget this?

Now the big tiger was using that promise against her, acting like she owed him her entire soul. And his eyes... oh heavens...they were so pitiful and expectant that her heart almost melted right there.

But she couldn’t.

She couldn’t lie down right now.

She wanted to cuddle...of course she did. Who wouldn’t want to cuddle a warm, muscular tiger who held her like he carried the whole world?

But...

Someone was in danger. A pregnant female.

How could she sleep?

Her chest squeezed with guilt. Her face warmed, then stiffened with worry. She kept trying to pull her hand back, but Hu Yan didn’t let go, thinking she was just shy. 𝑓𝘳𝘦𝑒𝑤𝑒𝘣𝘯ℴ𝘷𝘦𝓁.𝑐𝑜𝑚

But she wasn’t shy. She was conflicted. She needed to get away.

A hand suddenly slid between her and Hu Yan, gently prying her free.

It was Han Jue. He stepped forward, calm and steady, but his brows were slightly drawn together.

"Lan Lan," he murmured, his voice low and warm, "is something bothering you? You can tell me."

Hu Yan froze.

Rong Ye, who had been lying on the floor pretending to nap...shot straight up, his fluffy tail standing tall like a suspicious antenna.

Both husbands’ attention snapped to Su Qinglan instantly.

They could feel it too now that she was worried and anxious about something.

Su Qinglan looked up at Han Jue’s eyes, and her heart warmed painfully.

Should she tell him?

Should she tell them all?

The truth sat inside her like a stone pressing against her ribs. She had to find the third female. She had to finish the system mission. Not just for the reward, but because...

If she didn’t save that female in time...

Something bad could happen.

But how to explain it? How to tell them she needed to search the entire mountain tonight? How to make them understand without sounding reckless?

She swallowed hard.

"Han Jue..." she whispered. "Can you help me look for someone?"

All three beastmen straightened immediately.

Their expressions hardened at the speed of lightning. And all three thought the same thing.

That damned rabbit leader.

Their faces twisted into identical furious expressions, and all of them have the same thought: it must be that rabbit that has seduced their female.

Han Jue’s entire body stiffened. His ears turned red. He stood frozen on the spot like a carved wooden statue.

Rong Ye saw this. Instantly, the shameless fox lunged forward with sparkling eyes.

"Lan Lan! I will go search too! Give me a peck so I can run faster!"

Han Jue snapped out of his shock.

In one smooth motion, he swung out his leg.

THUD.

Rong Ye collapsed to his knees dramatically.

"WHY," he gasped, "do you always kick me?!"

"Ohh...my foot slipped..." Han Jue muttered darkly.

He still hadn’t forgiven the fox for interrupting earlier when Su Qinglan was bathing. Not even a little.

Su Qinglan opened her mouth, but before she could say anything, Han Jue flashed her a charming, rare smile. A breathtaking one.

The kind that would have caused mass fainting if performed in her world.

"Lan Lan, take care," he murmured. "We’ll go now."

Before Rong Ye could beg for his kiss again or even stand up, Han Jue grabbed him by the neck and dragged him toward the door.

"HEY...WAIT...MY PRIDE...DON’T DRAG ME LIKE A DEAD FOX...!!"

His protests echoed down the tree pathway.

But Su Qinglan didn’t hear a single word.

Because her heart was beating so loudly, so wildly, that everything else faded.

Han Jue’s smile was so charming. She pressed her hand over her racing heart.

"Oh my..." she whispered, cheeks red. "Good thing he wasn’t born in my world."

Because if he was?

The fangirls... The line would be as long as the Great Wall of China.
