Chapter 251: Chapter 251: Stove is hiding something!

Under the shattered remains of the giant rock, a small, cozy burrow was revealed. Tucked away in that hole was a very familiar, very leafy figure.

Rong Ye, who was still fuming from the rabbit’s footprint on his face, froze. He squinted his eyes, looking at the spiritual plant that was currently trying to blend into the dirt.

Even if Rong Ye was fast asleep or blindfolded, he would recognize this "green enemy" anywhere.

"So, here you are hiding!" Rong Ye barked, his wet fox ears twitching with irritation. "You haven’t returned home for days. I actually thought some wild rabbit had finally eaten you and turned you into fertilizer. I was almost ready to throw a feast to celebrate!"

Rong Ye leaned down, poking at Stove’s leaves with a muddy claw. "Why don’t you come back, huh? Or did you find a new family? You’ve been gone so long I bet Lan Lan has already forgotten your name."

Stove stiffened like a pine tree in a winter storm. If a plant could curse, he was currently calling Rong Ye every name in the book...this idiot... Stove thought, his vines trembling with rage.

Rong Ye grew suspicious. "What’s with the silent treatment? Did I hit the nail on the head? Ahh, so you did find a different family!"

"You bastard! You spent months eating all the good items in our house until you became so fat you could barely drag your own leaves around, and the moment you get a little bit powerful, you run away to find a better deal?"

Rong Ye’s sarcastic comments kept coming like a landslide. "What? Is our soil not premium enough for your royal roots? Is the water too plain? You ungrateful weed, I should just pull you out and feed you to a goat right now."

Stove couldn’t take it anymore. He had a limit. One of his long, sturdy vines whipped out of the burrow like a lightning bolt, and SLAP! It hit Rong Ye right across his smug mouth.

"You...!" Rong Ye staggered back, clutching his face. "You actually slapped me! That’s it! You’re coming out of there right now!"

Rong Ye lunged forward, reaching his hand into the small burrow to drag Stove out for a proper fight.

He expected the plant to come flying out, but Stove was acting strange. Instead of fighting back with all his vines, Stove hunkered down, squatting low and spreading his leaves wide to block Rong Ye’s view. He was resisting with a desperate kind of strength.

Rong Ye stopped pulling. His fox instincts, usually useless, finally kicked in. "Wait a minute... you’re hiding something."

Stove’s leaves shook. He tried to push Rong Ye’s hand away, but the fox was now on a mission. "Move aside, you overgrown weed! What is in there?"
