Clumsy Beast, Keep Your Paws Off novel Chapter 305

Chapter 305: Chapter 305: The Truth Revelation (02)

"She told me that because I abandoned her during labor to chase my past lover, she would never forgive me."

"She even refused to feed you. When I first saw you, you were tiny, barely alive, and crying from hunger because she wouldn’t touch you. I had to find other nursing females in the tribe to keep you alive."

Su Qinglan’s blood ran cold. That scheming bitch, she thought, her teeth clenching.

It all made sense now. Mu Lihua had likely staged the "news" about Wang Mulan to send Su Mingxuan away.

With the Tribe Leader gone, she could swap a baby or hide the fact that she wasn’t the one who had actually given birth.

Since her father hadn’t seen the birth, he had no way of knowing Su Qinglan wasn’t hers.

But a more dreadful thought entered Su Qinglan’s mind. What had happened to the real woman who carried her? How did she eventually fall into Mu Lihua’s hand?

Did her own mother abandon her, or was she simply snatched from her original mother?

She looked at her father, who was breaking down even more. "I was so guilty, Qinglan," Su Mingxuan sobbed.

"I felt that I had ruined Mu Lihua’s life by getting her pregnant when my heart belonged to another. Every time she abused you when you were a cub, I couldn’t stop her; I could only take the beating for you."

She always reminded me that I was the reason she was trapped in a loveless mate bond.

I spoiled you and let you do whatever you wanted as you grew up because it was the only way I knew how to make up for the fact that I couldn’t give you a mother’s love."

Su Qinglan felt a surge of pity for her father.

He had spent twenty years being a puppet to a woman’s guilt-tripping and lies.

Mu Lihua had used his love for Wang Mulan as a weapon against him, making him feel so shameful that he could do nothing against her tyranny.

"Father, listen to me," Su Qinglan said, her voice firm. "You were not the one who ruined her life. She is the one who ruined ours."

She looked over at Lan Yue, who was listening with a pale face. "Lan Yue, when your mother arrived at the Dragon Beast City... was she pregnant? Did she ever talk about losing a child?"

Lan Yue shook her head slowly. "My mother never talked about the past. She only said she escaped a great fire and was saved by my father.

But she always carries a small wooden carving of a fox cub. She looks at it every night before she sleeps."

Su Mingxuan looked up, his eyes wide. "A wooden carving? I... I made that for her. I gave it to her before the feast."

Su Qinglan was stunned, her heart pounding.

The pieces were fitting together, and they pointed toward a horrific crime. Mu Lihua hadn’t just separated two lovers; she had potentially stolen a child and tried to kill the real mother.

The time for guessing was over. She turned her gaze to Hu Yan, who was sitting beside her like a silent, protective mountain.

"Hu Yan," she said, her voice echoing with a sharp authority. "Go and bring Mu Lihua here. If she is not willing to come, you are allowed to do whatever is necessary to drag her here."

Hu Yan and Su Mingxuan both froze in shock.

"Are you sure, Father?" Su Qinglan asked, her voice dropping to a whisper.

"I think you never mated with Mu Lihua at all. I think Wang Mulan was the one in your arms that night, and Mu Lihua used a trick to make you believe it was her. Only she can tell us how she pulled off such a disgusting lie."

Su Mingxuan was so stunned he couldn’t speak.

The idea that his entire life was a lie and that his daughter was actually the child of his true love sent a shockwave through his system.

Suddenly, he let out a choked cry and clutched his chest. The intense, searing pain returned, stronger than ever before.

"Father!" Su Qinglan cried out. She immediately reached for him, but this time the pain seemed different. It wasn’t just emotional shock. She quickly pulled aside his vest to check the place he was clutching desperately.

Her eyes widened in horror. On Su Mingxuan’s chest, the totem was burning.

It was glowing with a dark light.

As she watched, the upper layer of the skin seemed to be peeling away, as it had turned rotten somehow, revealing a beautiful mark underneath, which was completely contrasted to the mark that was on his upper skin.

"What in the hell is this?" Su Qinglan whispered, her healing powers recoiling from the dark energy. 𝒇𝒓𝙚𝒆𝔀𝓮𝓫𝒏𝓸𝙫𝓮𝓵.𝓬𝙤𝙢

Meanwhile, in a dark, cramped cave of an unknown mountain, the Old Witch Doctor was sitting in front of a dead prey.

Suddenly, his eyes rolled back into his head. He let out a horrific sound and coughed up a huge mouthful of thick, black blood. The bone charms hanging around his neck shattered into pieces.
