Just as she finished speaking, a loud voice echoed from afar.
"Lan Lan! I am back! See what I brought!"
She turned her head. It was Rong Ye. He was running toward them, carrying many big green fruits in his arms.
No one else recognized them. But Su Qinglan froze for a second. Then her eyes widened in shock.
"Coconut!"
She rushed over excitedly and circled around him.
Rong Ye grinned proudly. "Lan Lan, it’s very sweet. The water inside is like sweet water from heaven."
Her lips twitched. She was both surprised and happy. Why had she never encountered a coconut tree before?
But it did not matter. Now they had coconuts.
Just then, another figure appeared from the forest.
It was Xuan Long. He was carrying an enormous prey over his shoulder, making everyone gasp.
It looked like a giant deer, but its body was much bigger, and it had many long, sharp antlers branching out from its head.
Even Su Qinglan was stunned. He walked straight toward her. Then he gently put down a basket he was holding in his other hand.
He removed the grass covering it and handed it to her.
"Lan Lan."
She looked inside. Her breath stopped for a moment.
Two small rabbit cubs were lying inside. They were tiny and fluffy, sleeping soundly.
"What is this?" she asked in confusion. "How can we eat such small ones?"
Xuan Long’s ears immediately turned red. He quickly shook his head. "They are not for eating."
He looked a little shy.
"They are for you to play with. I heard females like beautiful and soft rabbit cubs."
His voice became softer at the end.
Su Qinglan’s heart fluttered. She looked at the pair of tiny rabbits. They were so small and cute, their little noses twitching slightly even while sleeping.
Her eyes softened instantly. The other males looked at Xuan Long in surprise.
No one had expected him to bring something like this. Rong Ye was almost gritting his teeth in anger.
This sly snake, that damn slippery noodle, was always stealing his Lan Lan’s attention.
If only he could beat him, that snake head would swell up like a pig’s. Rong Ye snorted. Sigh... he had to work harder and become stronger. He couldn’t be the only weak one in the nest.
Han Jue had already advanced to a six-striped beastman, and Hu Yan was at the last stage of the fifth stripe. Only he was stuck at the first stage of the fifth stripe, without showing any sign of improvement.
Su Qinglan was very happy after receiving the pair of rabbits. Maybe in the future she could raise them and then eat them—how delicious they would be!
Roasted rabbit, rabbit stew... she was almost drooling just thinking about it.
The rabbits’ ears suddenly twitched, as if sensing something strange, but they continued sleeping.
If Xuan Long had known that his carefully chosen gift was being considered as future food, he really wouldn’t have known whether to laugh or cry.
Just as the atmosphere was getting warm and soft, Su Qinglan suddenly clapped her hands.
"Alright, alright! Everyone sit down and eat first. If you keep standing there, the food will get cold!"
Then she glanced at the enormous deer-like prey on the ground and waved her hand casually.
"Leave that there. It won’t run away. Food first."
The males did not resist at all. In fact, none of them dared to delay her meal.
They quickly sat down around the fire. The three cubs squeezed themselves between Hu Yan and Su Qinglan, their little tails wagging happily.
Su Qinglan immediately picked up the big crab and smiled brightly.
"This crab is very tasty! Super tasty!"
The males looked at the red shell seriously. It was hard and thick. They had always thought this kind of thing was impossible to eat.
Su Qinglan raised a crab leg and demonstrated.
"Look. You twist here... then press here... and crack!"
Crack.
Rong Ye stared at it regretfully.
"So little..."
He even sucked his fingers and frowned. He made a mental note. Tomorrow, he would go catch more. He really liked this.
On the other side, Su Qinglan, Xuan Long, and Hu Yan were busy feeding the eager cubs.
The three little ones were drooling everywhere. Their mouths were sticky with crab juice and egg bits.
They wriggled and rolled on their laps like little hurricane bundles, never sitting still for even a second.
Han Jue finally could not take it anymore. He gently took Xiao Er from Su Qinglan’s arms.
"Let me feed him. You eat properly, or everything will get cold."
Su Qinglan looked at him and nodded obediently.
"Okay."
She finally focused on her own food and ate happily.
Only after she slowed down did the males begin to properly devour the remaining grilled fish and eggs.
They ate fast but still watched her from time to time.
Soon, the cubs were too full.
They rolled onto their backs on the males’ laps, tiny bellies round and tight. Their mouths were messy, and their paws were sticky.
They kicked the air lazily, completely satisfied.
Hu Yan sighed helplessly. "They are really little hurricanes."
Rong Ye poked one soft belly gently.
"They eat like this every day. How will we keep up?"
Su Qinglan laughed brightly.
"Then work harder."
The males looked at each other. Yes. They really had to work harder.
