Clumsy Beast, Keep Your Paws Off novel Chapter 422

Chapter 422: Chapter 422: Mommy’s Outside... So Who Were You Hugging?

Xuan Long, who had finished skinning a section of the deer, walked over. Being a snake beastman himself, he understood exactly what his son was saying. He looked at the little snake and then at his blushing wife.

A mischievous glint appeared in his eyes. He reached out and patted the little snake’s neck with a finger.

"Why are you hissing so much, Xiao San?" Xuan Long asked with a playful tone. "Your mother and I were very busy last night. We are working hard to give you some little brothers and sisters."

The clearing went dead silent. 𝗳𝐫𝚎𝗲𝚠𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝘃𝚎𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝗺

Xiao San’s little snake face seemed to freeze. Little brothers and sisters?

Su Qinglan’s mouth opened into a big ’O.’ She stared at Xuan Long as if he had just grown a second head. The sheer audacity of this man to say that in front of the children!

"Xuan Long!" she shrieked, her face turning a shade of red that shouldn’t be humanly possible.

She grabbed a banana from the basket and hurled it with all her strength at his face. "Get out! What kind of nonsense are you telling the cubs? You’re a jerk! A total jerk!"

Xuan Long dodged the banana and let out a deep, hearty laugh.

Even the stoic Han Jue couldn’t help it, he started chuckling behind his hand while tending to the fire. Even Shi Feng had a look of suppressed amusement on his face.

Su Qinglan felt like she wanted to melt into the ground and disappear. "You big guys... all you do is tease me!"

Little Xiao San, however, took the news very seriously.

After a long moment of silence, his tiny eyes widened. He slowly crawled into her lap and stared intensely at her stomach. In his little snake mind, he was already imagining a bunch of tiny eggs waiting to hatch inside her.

Su Qinglan looked down at her son’s serious expression and felt completely speechless. How was she supposed to explain to a cub that his father was just teasing her?

"There are no babies in there yet, Xiao San," she groaned, covering her face with her hands. "Your father is just... he’s just being a bully."

But Xuan Long just smiled at her, his satisfied smile saying that he was more than happy to keep "working" on that goal for the next three days of her heat.

While Su Qinglan was outside dealing with the "brother and sister" rumors, the two tiger cubs, Xiao Yi and Xiao Er, had a very different mission.

They stomped into the cave with their little tails twitching in annoyance.

Xiao Yi was especially furious. He remembered clearly how his father, Hu Yan, had acted like a strict parent before, even scolding him for being too clingy to outsiders.

But now? His father had abandoned him with a lion for the whole night! Was he not the one who had spanked him just because he got closer to the lion?

"Double standards," Xiao Yi thought in his little tiger brain. "Total double standards."

The two men sat there, panting and disoriented. But then, the real shock hit.

As the fog of sleep cleared, Hu Yan realized his arm was wrapped tightly around Rong Ye. He looked down.

Rong Ye was also looking down. He realized his leg was still draped over Hu Yan’s thigh, and his face had been resting just inches from the tiger’s chest.

For a three-second count, the cave was deathly silent.

"AHHH!"

Both men scrambled backward so fast they almost fell off the opposite sides of the stone bed.

"Why were you hugging me?!" Rong Ye yelled, frantically wiping his face. "I thought you were Lan Lan! I thought I was hugging a soft thigh!"

Hu Yan’s face was a mixture of horror and disgust. He looked at his own arms as if they had betrayed him. "You were the one clinging to me like a vine! I thought I was protecting the female from the cold!"

Xiao Yi sat on the bed, watching them with a smug, "I-told-you-so" expression. He let out a loud, mocking purr.

"Meow-gruu." (You two are so embarrassing. Mommy is outside with the snake and the wolf, and you guys are in here playing ’hug-the-brother.’)
