Sunlight slipped quietly into the cave, brushing against the soft furs and the still figure lying on the bed.
Su Qinglan slowly woke up.
For a moment, she did not move. She simply lay there, feeling her body. A deep sense of satisfaction filled her from inside out. It was warm, soft, and calm... like everything had finally settled.
More importantly, her body no longer ached.
A faint smile appeared on her lips.
She closed her eyes again and gently circulated her plant-type ability through her body.
A soft green glow flickered faintly under her skin, moving slowly from her chest to her limbs, soothing every inch of soreness that remained. Wherever the energy passed, the slight stiffness and fatigue completely disappeared.
Only after making sure there was no lingering soreness did she finally relax.
Then...
She frowned slightly.
Instinctively, she shifted her body and moved closer, trying to lean into the familiar warmth that should have been beside her.
But there was nothing. Her hand touched only empty space. Su Qinglan paused as her eyes slowly opened.
The cave ceiling came into her view, familiar and quiet. For a moment, her mind was still hazy, but as she blinked and looked around, everything became clearer.
This place...
Her gaze moved across the stone walls, the familiar arrangement, the furs, the small details.
"This is... my cave?" she murmured softly.
It took her a few seconds, but then it clicked. She was back in her cave in the mermaid tribe. She quickly turned her head, looking to her left and right.
There is no one in sight.
The bed was empty except for her. Her heart skipped slightly.
"Where are they...?
"And the cubs...?"
She immediately sat up. Only then did she realize that she was already dressed in her own clothes. Someone had clearly taken care of her while she was asleep.
Her brows furrowed slightly in confusion.
Who brought her back?
And where was everyone?
At that moment, a dry feeling spread through her throat.
"Ah..."
She touched her neck lightly. She was thirsty. Pushing aside her thoughts for now, she got off the bed and walked out of the inner cave.
After drinking cool water, she finally relaxed and walked out of the cave. The moment she stepped outside, the fresh air greeted her.
Her eyes landed on a familiar figure not far away. It was Xuan Long.
He was sitting on the ground lazily, his long snake tail stretched behind him. The cubs were happily circling around him, their tiny bodies chasing his tail with excitement.
"Whoa...Grrr!" Xiao Yi and Xiao Er shouted excitedly. They were like kittens chasing a fur ball.
Xiao Yi pounced forward, trying to grab the moving tail, only to tumble over and roll on the ground.
Xuan Long looked completely bored.
His emerald eyes were half-lidded, as if he were lost in his own thoughts, barely paying attention to the cubs playing around him.
But the moment Su Qinglan appeared, his gaze snapped toward her.
In an instant, his long snake tail disappeared. He stood up and walked straight toward her.
"Lan Lan, youโre awake."
Before she could say anything, he leaned down and gently kissed her forehead.
"Are you tired?" he asked softly. "Iโll cook some eggs for you."
Su Qinglan blinked at him, still a little dazed.
Then she looked up at the sky. The light was already dim.
"Evening?" she whispered in disbelief.
"Oh my god... did I really sleep that long?" Her mind became even more confused.
Just what happened after she fell asleep?
Was it Shi Feng who brought her back?
Before she could think further, movement came from the forest.
One by one, the others returned.
