Behind her, Yin Feng’s eyes widened in shock. He had never seen her like this... breaking apart in front of so many people.
"Mulan—!"
He stepped forward immediately, closing the distance between them in an instant. His arms wrapped around her firmly as he pulled her into his embrace, supporting her trembling body before she could collapse any further.
"What happened?"
His voice was urgent now, filled with unmistakable worry.
But Wang Mulan did not answer.
She buried her face against him, her fingers clutching tightly onto his clothes as though they were the only thing anchoring her to reality. Her body shook with quiet sobs that she could not suppress.
Tears continued to fall.
One after another. They were unstoppable.
Yin Feng frowned deeply, his heart tightening painfully at the sight.
He held her gently but securely, one hand resting against her back as he tried to soothe her, his movements careful and steady.
"It’s alright... I’m here," he murmured in a low voice.
"Tell me... what happened?"
But she only cried. Her voice choked, broken apart by emotions far too overwhelming for her to control.
Around them, the beastmen stood frozen in place.
Slowly, almost instinctively, they lowered their heads, not daring to look directly at her.
Their priestess crying like this... It was something none of them had ever witnessed before.
Just what had happened?
What could possibly make her react so strongly?
Their thoughts raced wildly, but not a single one of them dared to voice those questions aloud.
Their hearts grew tense with unease and anticipation. But they remained silent.
Meanwhile, Yin Feng tightened his hold around her slightly, his brows drawn together deeply as concern filled his gaze.
"Mulan..." he called again, his voice softer now, gentler than before.
"Look at me... tell me what happened."
He asked her again and again, and finally her sobs began to weaken.
Her breathing slowly steadied, though her body still trembled faintly in his arms.
She lifted her head just a little, her tear-filled eyes unfocused, as if she were still caught somewhere between reality and emotion.
"...Yin Feng..."
Her voice came out hoarse and broken.
"My daughter..."
She paused, her lips trembling uncontrollably.
"...My daughter is back..."
Yin Feng froze. His entire expression stiffened in an instant.
"...What?"
His voice dropped, confusion filling his eyes as he stared at her.
Wang Mulan clutched onto him even tighter, her fingers gripping his clothes as though afraid he might disappear if she loosened her hold.
"The destiny... it brought her back..." she murmured, her voice uneven and choked with emotion.
"...She’s here... she’s really here..."
Her words came out in fragments, unclear and scattered, filled with feelings too vast for her to properly express.
But to Yin Feng...none of it made sense.
His brows furrowed even deeper, confusion clouding his thoughts. His gaze softened slightly as he looked at her tear-streaked face.

She pulled back just a little, creating a small distance between them. Her gaze lowered instinctively as awareness returned to her mind. What had she just done...? In front of everyone...?
