Chapter 558: Chapter 558: After One Slap, The Fox City Lord Couldn’t Sleep Anymore

But then his sharp eyes spotted something in Han Jue’s hand. It was a piece of soft, familiar cloth. Xuan Long’s eyes narrowed immediately. He recognized it right away. It was Lan Lan’s chest binding cloth!

’How could he be holding that?’ Xuan Long thought in shock. ’Lan Lan is always very careful with her clothes. She never lets us tear them or even wash them ourselves because she fears we will ruin them. We hardly ever get to touch them. So why is this stinky wolf holding it? And why isn’t she snatching it back?’

Han Jue noticed Xuan Long staring and gave him a smug look. He deliberately stroked the cloth as if showing off in front of him.

Xuan Long’s face darkened. Before he could say anything, Han Jue accidentally brought his own hand close to his nose while holding the chopsticks. The strong smell from the fertilizer work hit him hard. He almost gagged on the spot, his face twisting in disgust.

"Ugh..." Han Jue quickly turned his head away, trying to hide it.

Hu Yan saw this and laughed loudly. "Haha! Serves you right! Even after covering your face, you still smell bad!"

Su Qinglan shook her head helplessly, but her lips were curved in a smile. "Alright, stop fighting. Everyone worked hard today. Let’s eat first. The food will get cold."

The men sat down around the table. Only Shi Feng and the cubs were confused about what had happened to them.

Hu Yan deliberately sat closest to Su Qinglan and kept putting food in her bowl. "Lan Lan, eat more. You need strength for the babies."

Han Jue, not willing to lose, moved to her other side and poured her soup. "This is your favorite. Drink slowly."

Xuan Long served her the best piece of meat and said innocently, "I cooked this especially for you, Lan Lan. The others can eat the normal parts."

Only the silent Shi Feng wrinkled his nose as he looked at Han Jue and Hu Yan. Did they accidentally fall in animal dung? They stank so much that even the cubs sitting close to him refused to go near them.

Su Qinglan felt both amused and warm. These big, strong beastmen were acting like children when competing for her attention. She patted each of their arms gently. "All of you are good. There is no need to compete. I see everyone’s efforts."

But her words did not stop them.

Later that night, when everyone gathered on the big bed, the funny battle continued. Han Jue tried to snuggle closer to Su Qinglan using the excuse that he worked the hardest.

Hu Yan pulled him back by the tail. Xuan Long quietly moved the cubs to the side and tried to take the middle spot.

But Shi Feng beat him to it and immediately lay down in the middle, and the three cubs immediately climbed onto him to sleep.

"Enough," Su Qinglan said with a mix of laughter and warning. "If you keep fighting, I will sleep alone tonight."

The three men immediately became obedient. They lay down peacefully, but each kept one arm around her protectively. Su Qinglan touched her large belly and felt the babies moving gently.

"Good night, babies."

Night had already fallen completely over the Dragon Beast City.

The entire city was quiet. Only the occasional beast roar from far away echoed through the dark mountains. Inside the house assigned to the Fox Tribe, warm firelight flickered softly while everyone slept peacefully together.

But in another part of the city, inside the cold stone manor of the Fox Beast City Lord, not everyone could sleep.

Rong Yanchen sat alone near the window.

The moonlight poured over his sharp face, making his handsome features appear even colder and more sinister. One of his hands lazily rested against his temple while the other tapped slowly against the wooden armrest.

Tap.
