The two figures blurred across the battlefield.
Fists collided.
Palms clashed.
Shockwaves exploded repeatedly.
Every exchange shook the surroundings, and every impact seemed capable of tearing apart stone and steel.
But the longer the battle continued, the uglier Teng Siyan’s expression became.
Because Xuan Long was becoming stronger.
Even while enduring the suppression of the Beast Suppression Lock, every strike he threw carried greater force than the last. Every attack was more ruthless and savage.
It was as though the pain itself had become fuel for his rage.
Finally, Teng Siyan could not endure it any longer.
"Xuan Long!"
he shouted furiously while narrowly avoiding another punch aimed directly at his face.
"Have you completely lost your mind?!"
His words barely finished before another fist came crashing toward him. Teng Siyan twisted his body and dodged at the last moment, but the violent wind generated by the attack still sliced across his cheek.
"You care more about these people than your own blood family?"
Boom!
A heavy fist smashed into his shoulder before he could fully evade. Teng Siyan grunted painfully as the impact nearly shattered the bone.
"Don’t forget!" he roared through clenched teeth. "I am your uncle!"
Another attack arrived immediately after.
Teng Siyan barely managed to block it.
"I am the only blood relative you have left in this world!"
His voice echoed across the battlefield.
For the first time, Xuan Long’s movements paused. Only for a single second. Yet Teng Siyan immediately seized the opportunity.
"Your father entrusted you to me before he died!" he shouted desperately. "You belong to the Teng Clan! You should return with me!"
A strange, heavy silence fell.
The veins along Xuan Long’s neck bulged violently beneath his skin. His entire body trembled as if some terrifying force was struggling to break free from within him.
The Beast Suppression Lock suddenly blazed brighter than ever before. Scarlet light exploded from the runes. Pain surged through every inch of his body.
His muscles screamed. His bones felt as though they were being crushed. Even his mind seemed on the verge of splitting apart.
The beast instincts buried deep within him roared furiously, demanding release.
Yet none of that mattered. Because another image had appeared inside his mind. Xiao San’s tear-stained face. The desperate cries for help.
Hu Yan and Han Jue covered in blood.
Shi Feng lying on the brink of death.
Su Qinglan’s family restrained like prisoners.
And finally...
Su Qinglan herself. The female who had trusted him without reservation. The female who had accepted him when he had nothing. The female who had given him something he had never possessed before.
A home.
The images struck him harder than any attack ever could.
How was he supposed to face her after this?
How was he supposed to explain that danger had entered their peaceful life because of him?
That her family had suffered because of him?
That her cub had cried because of him?
How could he tell her that everything they had built together had nearly been destroyed because of the past he failed to bury?
The shame burned through him like molten lava. His chest felt as though it were on fire. His blood boiled.
The fury inside him swelled until it became something uncontrollable.
A horrifying killing intent exploded from his body, causing everyone nearby to instinctively retreat.
Even Teng Siyan’s face turned pale.
Slowly, Xuan Long raised his head. His blood-red eyes fixed upon the man before him.
"Teng Siyan."
His voice was frighteningly calm. Calm enough to make everyone present feel a chill run down their spines.
None of them dared imagine the consequences.
For the first time, genuine fear appeared in many of their eyes.
Teng Siyan naturally noticed their hesitation.
His expression immediately darkened.
"You useless fools!"
His furious voice exploded like thunder.
"Why are you standing there? Hold him down immediately!"
The elders exchanged uneasy glances, but not a single person stepped forward. The pressure radiating from Xuan Long was simply too terrifying.
Seeing their hesitation, Teng Siyan’s anger grew even greater.
"If he escapes today," he roared, "every one of you will answer to me personally!"
Only then did the Teng Clan experts grit their teeth and force themselves into action.
Several powerful elders attacked simultaneously.
The moment the attacks approached, Xuan Long slowly raised his head.
His blood-red eyes locked onto them.
A chill instantly crawled up every elder’s spine.
For a brief moment, they felt as though they were no longer facing a beast.
Instead, they felt like prey standing before an ancient predator that had awakened from a thousand-year slumber.
A predator that wanted nothing more than to tear them apart.
Then came a roar.
A roar so terrifying that the heavens themselves seemed to tremble.
Xuan Long’s body expanded further as he completely abandoned his humanoid form. Emerald scales reflected a cold metallic sheen beneath the moonlight, while his body stretched across the battlefield like a living mountain range.
His crimson eyes burned with madness.
Scarlet symbols spread across his scales as the Beast Suppression Lock continued its desperate efforts to suppress him. The artifact was trying to force obedience, trying to crush his will, trying to drag him to his knees.
But there was only one thing left inside Xuan Long’s mind. It was Rage.
