Su Qinglan stepped out of the wooden house and instinctively wrapped her arms around herself.
A cold breeze brushed past her cheeks. The chill was not strong yet, but it was enough to make her shiver.
She looked toward the distant mountains, and for some reason, a strange feeling crept into her heart. It was as though winter was quietly approaching from afar, bringing with it an invisible chill that settled over the land.
Suddenly, a warm fur cloak was draped over her shoulders. The familiar warmth instantly surrounded her body.
Su Qinglan unconsciously snuggled into it before turning around. Shi Feng was standing behind her. A gentle smile rested on his face.
"The weather is getting colder," Shi Feng said softly. "It won’t be long before winter arrives."
Su Qinglan looked at the gray sky in the distance before nodding.
"Yes."
Winter was coming. The signs were already obvious. The mornings were colder than before. The winds carried less warmth.
Even the animals in the forest had started preparing for the coming season.
Throughout the tribe, everyone had been busy storing food and supplies. The fox tribe had already finished building their stone houses, and most families had moved into them days ago.
Thinking of that, Su Qinglan slowly turned around and looked at the house behind her.
A smile unknowingly appeared on her face. There was longing in her eyes. But there was also anticipation.
Today was finally the day they would move into their new stone house. The move had been delayed again and again because of various things. Then she gave birth.
For nearly a month, she had barely stepped outside. Now that a month had passed since the birth of her cubs, she could finally walk around again. And today, their family will finally move into the new house.
Looking back now, Su Qinglan suddenly realized how much time had passed. They had already lived in Dragon Beast City for more than three months.
Time truly passed too quickly. It felt like only yesterday that she had first arrived here.
Yet now she already had a home. And seven little cubs who filled her life with noise every single day.
The thought made her smile soften. Holding Shi Feng’s warm hand, Su Qinglan slowly walked toward the center of the tribe.
The cold wind made her fingers feel numb. Even her nose felt frozen. Many beastmen greeted her as she walked.
"Qinglan!"
"How are the cubs?"
"You look much healthier now."
Su Qinglan smiled and greeted everyone back. Life has become peaceful recently.
It had already been a month since Xuan Long left. And a month since she had last seen An Mo.
Everything seemed quiet. As though nothing had happened at all. But every now and then, she would still think about them.
Wondering where Xuan Long had reached.
Wondering what An Mo’s mysterious words had meant that day.
Just as she was lost in thought, a familiar excited voice suddenly rang out.
"Mommy!"
Su Qinglan instantly looked up. The next second, her eyes widened slightly before laughter nearly escaped her lips.
Three little figures were running toward her from afar. It was her cubs Xiao Yi, Xiao Er, and Xiao San.
Ever since successfully learning how to transform, the three little boys spent most of their time in human form. Unless they were hunting or running long distances, they rarely used their beast forms anymore.
Su Qinglan’s gaze immediately softened. Then she became speechless. Because the sight before her was simply too amusing.
Xiao Yi was wobbling toward her while carrying the little lion cub in his arms.
The lion cub was already quite heavy for his age, making Xiao Yi look as though he might fall flat on his face at any moment.
Meanwhile, the little fox cub sat comfortably atop Xiao Yi’s head with a completely calm expression. As if he were riding a moving chair.
Despite carrying two cubs at once, Xiao Yi stubbornly continued walking. His little face was red from effort. Yet he refused to admit defeat.
Beside him, Xiao Er was carrying the wolf twin sisters. Since the girls were much smaller, his situation looked considerably better. Even so, he still waddled slightly as he ran. His face was full of pride.
Finally, Xiao San appeared. Su Qinglan immediately pressed her lips together. The little fellow was carrying the incubator.
The incubator was almost half his size. Yet he still stubbornly carried it everywhere. Inside was his precious little sister.
Su Qinglan had told him countless times that he could leave the incubator at home. But every single time, Xiao San would shake his head seriously. "My little sister wants to play too." And then he would carry the incubator with him anyway.
Watching him now, Su Qinglan could only sigh helplessly.
Just then, the younger cubs also noticed her.
"Mommy!"
The little fox cub immediately jumped off Xiao Yi’s head. The lion cub followed, and the wolf twins also rushed over.
