An Mo walked smoothly toward the door. Before he could push the door, a heavy knock rattled the wood. A knowing smile curved his lips.
He pulled the door open, only to find Han Jue standing right in front of him. A pleasant greeting almost formed on An Mo’s lips, but Han Jue cut him off instantly.
"Where is she?" Han Jue demanded, his expression incredibly dark.
An Mo let out a soft breath, keeping his cool. "She is tired. She just fell asleep."
Hearing those words, Han Jue’s face darkened even more.
Suddenly, An Mo felt like he could hear a strange grinding noise in the air. He glanced around, trying to spot the source, before realizing Han Jue was literally grinding his teeth in pure rage.
Without another word, Han Jue gave him a ferocious glare, pushed right past An Mo’s shoulder, and stormed directly into the house.
An Mo stumbled back a step, letting out a soft laugh.
"Ouch. I don’t think it’s very basic courtesy to barge into someone’s house like this," he called out. Then, he smoothly corrected himself, his golden eyes twinkling with mischief.
"But no, after all, we are family now. It is completely fine for us. I wouldn’t hold it against brother Han Jue."
Han Jue almost tripped over his own feet when he heard the word "brother."
His jaw clenched tightly, but he forced himself to keep walking toward the inner room where he could clearly sense Su Qinglan’s resting aura.
An Mo trailed behind him, deliberately saying riling things just to push his bottom line. "Brother Han Jue, you really have to take good care of me from now on, right? After all, I am the newest member of this family."
Han Jue stopped dead in his tracks. He whipped his head around, raising an eyebrow so high it almost disappeared into his hairline.
An Mo chuckled, giving him an innocent, pleasing smile. "Is it not right? You must have already guessed it. A male and a female staying inside a closed room together for this long... you know exactly what happened. So, you should really welcome me as your little brother."
Han Jue almost coughed in sheer disbelief at his antics. He realized with a surge of frustration that there was now a second person in this world, right next to Rong Ye, who could truly get under his skin and wreck his patience.
So what if this man was incredibly strong? So what if he was a benefactor who had saved their family? So what if he was Xuan Long’s close friend? None of that gave him the right to just slide into their family without warning!
What made Han Jue want to puke blood was the absolute lack of respect.
This golden-eyed beastman hadn’t even given the other males a single glance, choosing instead to directly lay down with their female. The whole situation was completely suffocating.
Han Jue mentally blamed Shi Feng for being so gullible, actually letting Lan Lan walk into this man’s house all by herself.
If he had been there, he would have blocked her immediately because he knew exactly what the man’s hidden intentions were.
According to basic beast-world etiquette, if a new male wanted to join an established family, he was supposed to ask permission from the existing husbands first.
Only after getting their approval was he allowed to officially pursue the female. But An Mo had completely skipped the rules and gone straight to the prize.
Han Jue had lost his mind waiting for Lan Lan to come back. As the hours ticked by, noon turned into evening, and there was still no sign of her.
Unable to control his boiling temper, he had finally stormed over here, fully intending to plant a heavy punch right across An Mo’s flawless face.
And now, this ridiculous "brother" talk was giving him major creeps.
