Chapter 662: Chapter 662: The Midnight Search for Father Beast

Han Jue’s eyes softened into absolute mush in an instant. Looking down at his two adorable, fluffy daughters, his protective fatherly instincts exploded.

He immediately bent down, scooped both of the tiny bundles into his broad arms, and brought them inside out of the chill.

Seeing their watery, teary eyes, his heart completely melted.

"What happened?" he asked, his voice incredibly loving and gentle.

"Why are my sweet babies crying? Did you miss your Father Beast?"

The two little cubs looked like they were on the verge of sobbing.

Han Jue felt a wave of guilt hit him. He kissed each of them tenderly right on top of their furry heads.

"Father Beast is so sorry," he murmured softly.

"I was a bit busy today, so I couldn’t accompany you. Don’t be sad."

Ever since they were born, Han Jue had made it a strict routine to accompany his daughters every single night until they fell fast asleep.

The little girls were incredibly clingy to him and highly dependent on his presence.

Because he hadn’t shown up the entire evening, they must have woken up in the middle of the night feeling scared and upset.

Glancing through the open door, Han Jue noticed the rest of the main house was completely dark and quiet. These two brave little things had definitely sneaked out all by themselves just to find him.

Su Qinglan looked over from the bed and smiled warmly. "See who is here!" she called out happily.

Han Jue walked over and set the cubs down on the bed.

Su Qinglan reached out, gently rubbing the soft heads of both girls.

"You two only need your Father Beast, hm? What about your mommy?" she teased, putting on a pout. "Are you ignoring me?"

The two cubs froze, completely dumbfounded by her words.

In their little minds, Father Beast was always the one they turned to for comfort and cuddles because they didn’t want to accidentally disturb their precious mommy.

They always clung to him. But now, seeing their mommy actively complaining and looking sad, they panicked. How could mommy think they didn’t love her? That was impossible!

Without a second thought, the two little girls completely abandoned their father.

They turned around and scrambled across the blankets, jumping straight into Su Qinglan’s waiting arms.

Su Qinglan giggled happily as the two soft, warm bundles tumbled against her chest.

She ruffled their fur gently, her heart bursting with affection. "So soft, so cute," she whispered happily. "My daughters are truly the most beautiful girls in the world."

The two cubs, however, didn’t even hear her praise.

They were completely mesmerized, staring up at their mother with very wide eyes. With her wet hair framing her face and her beautiful, pale green eyes shining with pure warmth and affection, Su Qinglan looked absolutely breathtaking...just like a stunning fairy under the dim, warm light of the fire.

Han Jue stood by the bed for a moment, just watching the three of them. A soft, incredibly tender smile broke across his handsome face as he looked at his beautiful mate and their two fluffy daughters tangled up in the blankets.

"Alright, you three," Han Jue said, his voice a low, amused rumble.

"Since nobody can sleep, I’m going to whip up a late-night snack. Lan Lan, don’t let them trick you into letting them chew on the blankets."

The two cubs let out tiny, synchronized yips as if defending their honor, making Su Qinglan burst out laughing.

"Go on, Big Wolf. We’re starving here!"
